I offer in-person and virtual therapy, with weekday and some evening availability.
Trees can symbolize what it means to be human. We have roots that are connected to early experiences, feelings, and memories. As we grow we create new connections, branching and flowing in different ways. This can be seen as our daily behaviour, emotions, and thoughts. Our goal is to grow and gravitate towards the light- happiness. There are times in our life that challenges, relationships, or traumas can block our growth. Our roots or branches may have formed pathways that not longer serve us or help us grow towards that light. We are capable of changing the trajectory of our lives through meaningful reflection.

People seek psychotherapy for various reasons, whether it be finding a solution or just having an opportunity to speak to someone. At its core, psychotherapy provides a supportive and confidential space where individuals can explore their thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and relationships. I approach therapy better understanding one's inner child. Understanding, reconnecting, and healing those emotional wounds from our childhood that will allow us to better understand and manage our current behaviours and emotional distress in order to empower ourselves in personal growth and emotional healing.

Sessions are offered at my office, in-person, in Vaughan, Ontario and in the Grey Bruce Area as well as online by video or phone.
Change can happen. Seeking support for yourself, your child, or family, often comes at a tender moment. As you reach out for therapy, you may feel vulnerable, uncertain, or simply aware that something isn't quite right. Therapy isn't about fixing what is broken; it's about understanding what's happening and finding steadier ways forward. That is when change happens. I invite you to reach out so we can work together. My work is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and respect for each person's story. Together, we create a space where emotions can safely be named, patterns understood, and resilience strengthened.

I offer mindful, somatic talk therapy in-person in a soothing, friendly practice and virtually.
I'm interested in working with people who are ready to take a journey into self-discovery: to inquire compassionately into joy, fulfillment, distress and suffering. Perhaps you have questions about who you really are, how experience has shaped you, what your place in the world is, how to cope with life changes, or how to keep going in the face of injustice. Are you disillusioned, lonely, or disappointed, wondering how to move towards belonging, vibrancy, and liberation? Perhaps existence simply feels wrong in a way you can't quite pinpoint.

Why do I freeze when my kid starts screaming in public? Why am I drinking more lately? What's causing me to snap at the tiniest things my kids do? I help dads be the parent they want to be. My clients are trying to raise their kids differently than how they were raised, but often find themselves running into blocks that get in their way. I use EMDR and other evidence-based approaches to help dads and adults understand the root causes of their reactions, emotions, and coping mechanisms. I have experience working with dads ranging from business owners to SOF veterans. The common thread is they want the best for their kid(s).

*PRE-LICENSED PROFESSIONAL*There are so many of us today that are sleep walking our days away. We don’t notice how our bodies are retaliating against how we have internalized our own traumas and challenges. We “think” our way out of critical issues and we forget to listen to our body, mind and spiritual being. We need to “wake up”. We need to feel again. It may be difficult to get there but we have to do away with being comfortably numb and get back to living our best life. With a varied toolbox we can explore various ways of uncovering a path to a more authentic life.

I offer sessions in person—at Cedar Cottage Counselling in Owen Sound—or online.
I believe you’re the expert on your own life. My role is to work in step with you, with compassion and curiosity, as you develop a better understanding of yourself. What brings people to my practice is often not one crisis but the cumulative toll of feeling stuck, isolated, or quietly defeated. I work primarily with women, with a particular focus on life transitions and the emotional load that can come with them. I offer space to feel and think more slowly and deeply than daily life allows, without rushing you toward answers before you are ready.

Within my practice, I specialize in working with children and adolescents and adults, specifically adults looking for parenting support/coaching and mothers entering into the world of parenting (prenatal, pregnancy, postpartum). My therapeutic approach is an eclectic one, one that is flexible to the needs of my client. It is very important to know that therapy is not a “one size fits all” approach and therefore I find flexibility in my approach to be imperative. I offer therapeutic approaches in the realm of talk, art, and play therapy. I have training in a variety of therapeutic approaches making my approach flexible to your needs.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
