New clients can book a free first (30 minute) visit in office, to just chat about stuff.
It’s challenging to figure out who to choose when you need to talk to somebody. Where is the therapist of the “bad break up”? Or, relationship breakdown, even if it is with yourself. You want to talk with someone who’s training and experience reflects your struggle, of course. I have worked in psychiatry, both in hospital and community crisis work, (military, police, therapists, teachers) victims of infidelity, domestic and sexual abuse. If you are ready, take heart, change can happen. Gift therapy time to yourself or a loved one. It's free to meet me.

My approach to therapy is warm, real, and grounded in genuine curiosity about your inner world. I’m not the overly clinical, nod-and-smile therapist. I believe healing happens through honest, human conversations. Sometimes that means we might drop a few F-bombs, and that’s okay. Life is messy, and pretending it’s not doesn’t help anyone grow. I create a space where you don’t have to filter yourself or perform. You get to show up exactly as you are, frustrated, exhausted, angry, unsure and we start there.

Does it feel like you're never seen? Maybe drowning in the current political and capitalistic state of the country? I feel that! Hold on to that rage, you're going to need it to fight oppression. I am a white nonbinary and pansexual therapist who values empowering the unheard and misunderstood. I do this by using self-disclosure, humor, and clinical transparency - no "smoke and mirrors" here. I specialize in supporting nonconforming people, including queers, neurodivergent people, BIPOC, sex workers, people with diverse bodies/abilities, those who are traumatized or have DID, kinksters, and those who support them!

Life throws us a lot of challenges. These challenges can impact our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, behaviours, our interactions with others, and our relationship with ourselves – they can result in experiences of depression, anxiety, loss and grief, low self-esteem and confidence, anger, and high levels of stress. These experiences can lead to feeling disconnected from ourselves, as well as to the people and things that used to bring us joy and a sense of wellness.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a starting point for assessing and identifying unhelpful thinking patterns, distressing feelings and behaviours that drive and perpetuate problems. Treatment plans are then developed collaboratively. When appropriate, a referral for a Psychiatric consultation can also be coordinated as to augment the psycho-therapeutic work.

I offer therapy in-person in a bright downtown office, or online in the comfort of your own home.
The fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum journey can be some of the most emotionally intense times in a person’s life. It can stir up past wounds, heighten anxiety or depression, and bring on a deep sense of uncertainty and loss of control. It can shake your identity, challenge your relationships, and leave you wondering who you are in the midst of it all. And at the same time, it can also be beautiful. Life-changing in all the best ways. I've been there too, and I'm here to help you find the support that you are so deeply worthy of.

Hello, and welcome! If you find yourself visiting this space, and we never get a chance to meet, I just want to take what may be my only opportunity to encourage you in this part of your journey. You are contemplating change, and that requires courage. Take heart – courage does not mean the absence of fear.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
