I am energized by the process of encouraging and empowering clients to be the best version of themselves. My desire is to guide couples to the path of healing, change and greater connection. I use a 3 step: Reflect, Repair, Recreate process to get couples back on track and building a healthy and satisfying relationship. I'm experienced and enjoy working with clients from all ethnic backgrounds that face challenges.

I believe that there is good in every person, and hope in every situation. I have helped hundreds of individuals, couples, and families heal, grow, and connect. As a relational therapist, I appreciate the impact that our relationships have on our well-being. I do not see clients as having something wrong with their minds that necessarily needs to be fixed. Rather, I see my clients as unique individuals, each with their own stories and perspectives, embedded in important relationships and contexts that impact them. I see strengths and I see hope, even when it feels like there is none.

Many of my clients are busy professionals balancing demanding careers, caregiving, relationships, and the mental load of daily life, often feeling overwhelmed or stuck. I understand how cultural expectations and family dynamics can add another layer to this experience, and as a second-generation immigrant, I bring that perspective into my work with care and respect. Additionally, I have experience supporting healthcare professionals to navigate workplace stress, imposter syndrome, and system-level challenges. I also work with individuals in high-stakes situations, including complaints and disciplinary investigations.

We all long to be heard... to have someone witness and lovingly validate our struggles, our painful suffering and our greatest achievements. Did you know that healing happens when we feel we are in a trusting, truly compassionate therapeutic relationship? You probably give more to others than to yourself but you don't know why. You may be burned out, overwhelmed, a PTSD/sexual abuse survivor - or possibly suffering from Long Covid; depressed. anxious and totally stressed out? Your inner voice won't quit and you are so hard on yourself. You are not alone. It would be an honour to help you add peace and joy into your life.

You long for a job where you can live up to your potential and you’re not sure about this career anymore. Every workday, it’s harder to get out of bed. You’ve considered changing jobs but are scared you’re the problem. The idea of change feels overwhelming because you overthink and you don’t know where to start. But you aren’t sure if you’ll ever find a place where you belong, whether or you’re neurotypical or are grappling with ADHD. Maybe counselling has given you some insights but now you wonder if you need someone who specializes in career counselling or coaching.

You look like you have it together — the career, the family, the responsibilities you carry without complaint. But inside, you're exhausted in a way that's hard to explain, even to yourself. You overthink every conversation. You feel guilty when you say no. You snap at the people you love and then spend hours feeling awful. At night, when the house is finally quiet, your brain won't stop. If you're a South Asian, immigrant, or Muslim woman carrying the weight of cultural expectations and family pressure, you're in the right place.

I have extensive experience practicing clinical psychology with teens, adults and couples. When patients are open to examining the issues in their experience of unhappiness and worry - a positive outcome is within sight. The first step is to recognize the issues by name and begin exploring them. It requires openness and a non-judgemental attitude of curiosity. It means being kind, patient and compassionate towards one's self as the difficult issues are discussed. It also entails trusting the therapist as a fellow traveller in the process as one who is able to help clarify the emotional terrain and work towards a solution.

Life can feel overwhelming when you’re carrying the weight of trauma, struggling with codependent patterns, or trying to heal from control or abuse on your own. My goal is to support survivors of various forms of trauma. I genuinely feel that everyone holds their own map to healing, however, many often need help navigating their path forward. Whether you’re working on trauma recovery, healing from abuse, or dealing with other factors such as addiction, personality disorders, stress, or working through the stages of grief, you don’t have to go through it alone. I am grateful to be that source of support for current and new clients.

We live in a traumatized world with many factors impacting our mental health and well-being negatively. Everything from war, conflicts, racial violence, displacement, loss, grief, family and relationship issues, life transitions, all test our strength and ability to cope with the demands of everyday life. We all need support, human connection, kindness and compassion to get through these difficult times. It can be difficult to reach out for help and embark on an unknown path to a healing journey. It takes courage and commitment to engage in therapy but it can also be extremely rewarding when you get the appropriate support.

How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioural therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
