Having experienced the depths of grief, heartbreak, and loss of my sense of self- I understand how dark, isolating and impossible it can feel. The hopelessness, anxiety, and pain that can come from these experiences can leave us questioning so much, not knowing how or where to start with our healing. With therapy, we are able to address the complexity of our emotions and find the support we need, to grow, heal and to reconnect with ourself. My own experience of learning to access my inner resources is what motivates me to empower and guide others on their journey of self discovery and healing.

I enjoy working with adolescents and adults of all ages in my practice both in person, online and/or on the phone.
For over 30 years, I have been working with people who have experienced trauma, both simple and complex post-traumatic stress symptoms (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. I offer several modalities that can clear these traumatic memories, so you can live a life that is free from these incidents and with more peace.

I offer therapy sessions in person and online via video.
I personally know how it feels to be overwhelmed by the demands of school, work, everyday responsibilities and personal relationships. When challenged by the symptoms of AD(H)D, anxiety or depression everyone can become burdened by life's distractions, unable to prioritize and find the time to nurture relationships, pursue personal interests, meet desired goals and find peace and happiness in our day. To facilitate the changes you would like to see, I will create a safe place to process relationship issues, symptoms related to AD(H)D, trauma, depression, anxiety that have impacted your quality of life.

I work with driven individuals who want to grow, yet may find themselves feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or frustrated that they aren’t showing up the way they know they can. I believe meaningful change is ALWAYS possible. In our work together, we’ll explore what matters most to you and help you move toward it, even when your mind tries to pull you off course. My approach draws heavily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which focuses on learning to accept what we cannot control while committing to act on what truly matters.

I work with people who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, or cumulative stress, and want to develop a sense of well-being and emotional stability. Going beyond traditional talk therapy, I use somatic psychotherapy and transpersonal therapy in healing trauma, including developmental trauma. Somatic therapy is a gentle, experiential approach that integrates awareness of body sensations and movement impulses. This allows the body, mind and emotions to heal from trauma, so you can feel more connected and engaged in your life.

I am offering in person on a very comfy sofa or online sessions.
Did you wake up today and think to yourself, "something isn't right" or "I can't go on like this"? If you are struggling with your substance use and you're feeling like you are no longer in control, it might be time to consider change. Maybe you are tired of hiding your drinking as a way to cope with your mood. Maybe you have noticed that while getting high works in the moment to help manage your nerves, you are actually more anxious now than you have ever been. Change is scary, but may be necessary for you to reach your full potential.

I offer therapy in-person in a bright downtown office, or online in the comfort of your own home.
The fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum journey can be some of the most emotionally intense times in a person’s life. It can stir up past wounds, heighten anxiety or depression, and bring on a deep sense of uncertainty and loss of control. It can shake your identity, challenge your relationships, and leave you wondering who you are in the midst of it all. And at the same time, it can also be beautiful. Life-changing in all the best ways. I've been there too, and I'm here to help you find the support that you are so deeply worthy of.

We offer in-person sessions from our office in Fergus, as well as virtual sessions Ontario wide.
The world is on fire, social media says you’re behind, and every decision feels high-stakes. Rent? Wild... Job security? Questionable... Anxiety? Through the roof! You’re trying to build a career, afford a life, and keep it together while your brain spirals nonstop. You overthink every move, compare yourself constantly, and feel behind even though you’re doing what you’re ‘supposed’ to be doing. You second guess yourself constantly and the future feels overwhelming instead of exciting.

Life can be a lot sometimes, can’t it? You might look around and wonder, "How did I get here?" or feel like the way you've been navigating your world just doesn’t fit anymore. Reactions and emotions might feel out of control, like you're stuck in cycles you don’t quite know how to break. Maybe your body is sending you signals—tension, stress, or discomfort—that something's off. Or, you’re facing changes and challenges that feel overwhelming, and it’s just exhausting. Wouldn’t it be nice to allow a little space for ease?

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
