Life can be a lot sometimes, can’t it? You might look around and wonder, "How did I get here?" or feel like the way you've been navigating your world just doesn’t fit anymore. Reactions and emotions might feel out of control, like you're stuck in cycles you don’t quite know how to break. Maybe your body is sending you signals—tension, stress, or discomfort—that something's off. Or, you’re facing changes and challenges that feel overwhelming, and it’s just exhausting. Wouldn’t it be nice to allow a little space for ease?

Society tells us becoming a parent should to be natural, joyful, and will happen within our desired timeline. For some there is truth to this, but many parents are left disoriented with the gap between their expectations and reality. We are urged to pour into our children, give them all of our attention, but also find time for ourselves and our relationship. The challenges of this stage of life can leave parents feeling lonely, overwhelmed and with a sense of personal failure. You might wonder who you even are anymore and if things will ever change - If you are struggling, you are not alone, and it doesn’t have to stay this way.

I work with people who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that keep repeating. This can show up in relationships that feel confusing or heavy, family pressure, school or work stress, or a mind that will not slow down at night. You might find yourself overthinking everything, feeling responsible for others, or worrying about being too much or not enough.
Many of my clients are used to handling things on their own and pushing through, but reach a point where they feel exhausted, stuck, or unsure of how to feel better. There is often a sense of carrying a lot internally without really having somewhere to offload it.

It is my belief that the path to healing can take many forms, and that therapy is a space in which that path can be explored and fortified. In my work with clients, this journey primarily begins by exploring our connections in current and past relationships with loved ones, as well as the relationship we have with ourselves. As a Registered Psychotherapist, I value providing a safe, welcoming space for all clients to explore their experiences. My stance is trauma-informed, strength-based, and anti-oppressive and I strive to embody a compassionate, collaborative, and curious stance.

I'm Tracy, a Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist with over 18 years of experience and 10 years in private practice. My approach is evidence-based, practical, and tailored entirely to you. Some clients need to work from the body up, regulating the nervous system and processing what words alone cannot reach. Some need to resolve what is stored: memories, beliefs, and patterns that have become neurologically stuck. Others need to dismantle patterns cognitively, build new behaviours, and practice different responses in their daily lives. Most need some combination of all three.

Your religion, spirituality, or culture has become a source of distress, or even suffering—rather than of strength. You’re struggling with feeling pressured to make choices based on cultural/religious expectations and beliefs that don’t work for you, with conflicts in interfaith or multicultural relationships, or perhaps whether to leave or join a religious community. You’ve found yourself thinking, "I don't know who I am anymore, or what I'm doing with my life." Relentless uncertainty or confusion can leave you feeling too drained to cope with life, much less enjoy it. At this point, you just want to feel "not broken."

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
