While also moving you toward the things you value in your career and personal life.
You’ve been thinking about starting therapy for a while. You feel stuck while others are moving forward in life. You question your abilities to achieve your goals. You doom scroll for hours and lack the motivation to get things done in your life. You compare yourself with others. You struggle to be happy for other people’s accomplishments. At times, you feel hopeless and worried about your future. You feel exhausted when you have no tasks. You have difficulty sleeping and never feel fully rested. You feel overwhelmed with life tasks. You lack self-confidence and question if anyone else is experiencing what you are going through.

You have a dream for your life- create something special, make more money, start a family, live amazing experiences. Yet, despite wishing for these things, you can’t seem to make much progress. You write your goals down but that does not magically move you into action. You read self help books but the good feelings do not last long. You tried manifesting and you’re still waiting for that Bentley to come around the corner…Heck, you might have even tried therapy but week after week after week you just vent and rant and you might be starting to feel even worse...

My hope with all individuals is to provide them with a safe space, that is comfortable & healing. My office is judgment-free & I am here to best support those willing to seek growth & change. What to expect when first seeing me? Relief & hope. I am aware that so many people want to be heard & validated, especially those in difficult relationships. The cornerstone of my work is in building relationships where clients feel listened to, validated, and able to build trust in the therapeutic process. Together, we start with identifying areas of concern as well as personal strengths, and work towards finding strategies to move towards positive change. Through the process, there is a wonderful opportunity for learning more about yourself and those around you. Talking about issues that may be causing you distress is an incredibly important step in building life-long skills of self-awareness, self-care, and self-compassion.

We all want to be more balanced, more present, and to feel empowered as we move through this world. However, people often experience blockages such as depression and anxiety due to traumas and conscious or unconscious fears about their own worth, inner wisdom, and ability to pursue their own path. My purpose in working with you is to help you find meaning in your pain, heal, feel into your purpose, develop deep self love, find depth in your joy, manifest your highest good, and reflect the sparkling light of who you are back out into the world.

Life frequently confronts us with moments of overwhelming uncertainty, leaving us feeling stuck, anxious, and unsure about our next moves. The decision to embark on a therapeutic journey often arises from such encounters with life’s challenges. These challenges may manifest as obstacles in our daily lives or when interacting with people, and make us feel persistent anxiety or depression or perhaps just a vague sense of unease, the contemplation of something still taking form – a lingering, unarticulated question residing in our minds.

Symptoms of anxiety, depression, loss, grief, big life changes, burn-out and mood disorders can be relieved greatly through emotional exploration, mindfulness techniques, and self-compassion. My approach is based on the belief that a deeper understanding of ‘self’ ultimately instills a stronger sense of peace and health in our day to day lives. Honing our natural ability to self-regulate and heal often begins with naming our struggles and traumas in the presence of a supportive other. From here we gain greater clarity on how to take care of ourselves, create boundaries and self-care patterns that instigate lasting change.

My practice offers psychotherapy services for individuals, couples and parents. People who contact me usually do so because they are experiencing difficulty managing as they face life's challenges or are experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of stress, depression or anxiety. I specialize in supporting men and women, particularly advanced students and early career professionals, who are grappling with ADHD.
Oversharing. Masking. Time blindness. Procrastination. Impulsive spending. Difficulty focusing at school/work. Hyperfixations. Rejection sensitivity. Emotional rollercoaster. Whether you just got diagnosed with ADHD or suspect you have it, you finally have an answer to why you always felt "different". You’ve tried everything you can to try and help your symptoms - medication, meditation, time blocking, planners, self-help books, journaling - but nothing seems to work for long. It was "fine" for a while, but now it's starting to show up as problems in your closest relationships - be it with friends, partners, family, or at work.

Career Guidance Counsellors

How do I know if I need career counselling?

Determining whether a career counsellor is needed involves assessing one's current career and identifying what changes can be made to improve one's overall quality of life. In particular, feelings of loss of motivation, fatigue, anxiety, depression, procrastination, or ongoing levels of high stress can all be indicative of a need for career-related counselling. In addition, individuals changing jobs may want the decision-making support or self-reflection opportunities provided by a career counsellor.

Who can benefit from career counselling?

Anyone can benefit from the self-reflection, skill development, and stress management techniques that career counselling can provide. However, individuals who are feeling overwhelmed or burnt out with their current job and individuals considering a major career change may particularly benefit from career counselling to improve their wellbeing. Additionally, individuals who are facing issues in their current job, such as coworker relationship challenges or not meeting performance goals, may benefit from the perspective that a career counsellor can provide. College-age or young professionals may also uniquely benefit from career counselling as they make key decisions surrounding education and job training that will impact their career trajectory.

How long does career counselling typically last?

The length of career counselling can vary greatly depending on the needs of the individual and what type of support they are seeking Career coaching or advising services—which serve clients in a specific, goal-oriented capacity—often last for a shorter duration and are sometimes only a single session or a few sessions in length. In contrast, career counselling as part of a more integrative therapeutic relationship with a counsellor may last longer, particularly if the issues faced by the client are longstanding and/or more complex in nature; in such cases, individuals may expect therapy to last multiple months or longer.

How to prepare for career counselling?

Clients can prepare for career counselling sessions by outlining the specific topics they would like to address with the counsellor, such as current job challenges or hopes for the future of their career. Compiling one's thoughts on such topics often requires reflection on one's career and future goals, which in itself can be beneficial for session preparation. Clients may also want to put together a list of questions they would like to ask the counsellor, particularly if the career counsellor they are seeing has particular expertise in a given career area. Conducting research into potential future jobs, training opportunities, or support resources in one's area may also help clients prepare for career counselling by providing them with a background of what resources are available in their area.
