You’re dealing with a lot, feeling guilty and confused. Guilty for not loving more or trying harder. You're told it's all your fault - it must be true, right? They were charismatic and charming, showering you with PDA and compliments, but it all changed. You’re the problem, they say, and now you feel trapped and broken. You’re not alone. It's not your fault. You Google “abusive relationships” and discover that you're reading about your life! You need guidance - I know this because I needed it too. I chased “being good enough,” trying to “behave well” for my family. After college, I married and divorced someone who always blamed me.

Your First Session is Free! I understand there is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes when your mind is racing but your body feels completely stuck. This often happens when we are living on 'automatic defaults' – habits that leave us burnt out and disconnected from ourselves.
I provide a compassionate space to help you untangle these patterns and move forward. With over 14 years of experience in the public service and leadership, supporting individuals through stress and transitions, I have learned that progress happens when we move from simply surviving to experiencing life with more clarity, confidence and intention.

As a clinical psychologist, I have spent the last 10 years helping clients overcome and navigate anxiety, OCD, depression, insomnia, and life stressors.
Anxiety can leave us feeling disconnected from the things we find most important, whether it's in the form of overthinking, worrying, or feeling like we are not living up to our own expectations. Eventually, anxiety can pull us away from our family and friends, our work, and our hobbies and interests. I have always been deeply invested in helping clients identify how anxiety may be keeping them stuck and empowering them towards meaningful change.

How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.
Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.
Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.
What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
