I believe in therapy from a biopsychosocial perspective, recognizing the deep connection between the body, mind, and relationships. My approach considers biological factors like pain management, exercise, and sleep; psychological aspects such as emotional regulation, stress management, and education; and social influences, including relationships and conflict resolution. I provide a non-judgmental and open space where we can explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, working together to reduce distress and promote meaningful change. I also encourage nature therapy, helping clients reconnect with the outdoors to enhance their se

Your brain won’t shut off. Intrusive thoughts, what-ifs, compulsions and mental loops can leave you exhausted and desperate for some relief. Maybe you’re constantly seeking reassurance, avoiding triggers or performing rituals to ease anxiety, only to have it come right back. OCD can affect relationships, health, safety, routines and everyday life, not just cleanliness or order. OCD therapy can help you understand the cycle of obsessions and compulsions, manage intrusive thoughts and anxiety, reduce reassurance-seeking and avoidance, and build practical skills to take back your time, confidence and freedom.

Do you intellectually understand your mental health, but your body and emotions still feel stuck? In traditional talk therapy, the focus is often entirely on the mind. But for those navigating trauma, chronic stress, or stress-induced digestive issues, talking isn't enough. As a process-oriented and somatic psychotherapist, I help you bridge the gap between mind and body. If you are naturally curious about how your nervous system works and open to trying evidence-based techniques that go beyond standard talk therapy, let’s explore what uniquely resonates with you to help you feel meaningfully better.

Trauma, much like a splinter, embeds itself into a person and affects all aspects of life. My primary objective is to create a safe and compassionate therapeutic alliance which facilitates healing and growth. With Trauma, I truly believe that the body holds a great deal of the emotional weight, without us knowing. I witnessed severe difficulties in my community, and as an adult, I have grieved many friends who kept their suffering a secret, often until it was too late. I truly believe that every individual innately harbors the right set of tools to achieve their personal goals and find their way to a meaningful, fulfilling life.

Some areas I'm passionate about when working with individuals and couples are navigating the journey of parenting, those impacted by a traumatic brain injury and those navigating life and recovery of disordered eating.
Change can mean challenge and opportunity and becoming a parent is perhaps one of the most transformative life transitions of all. Each stage we go through from conception to empty nesting comes with its joys and challenges. It is my intention to support you so you feel safe to open up and explore yourself. As I’ve learned, parenting is tough and it is common to feel lost and possibly isolated. There is such value in creating connection with others, as well as ourselves. Change may also be embracing opportunities to focus on one's well-being and goals, in a way that brings hope, progress and confidence.

As a therapist, I have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds and have found that each is unique in their personality, perspective and experiences. For this reason, I approach each session with the aim to tailor therapy and interventions to my client. I consider my innate qualities of empathy and compassion to be strengths that allow me to build meaningful therapeutic relationships in which clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions. I have witnessed individuals enter therapy in moments of significant distress and, over time, develop greater resilience, heal, and learn to cope with their challenges.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Counsellors
When should someone seek treatment for a traumatic brain injury?
People should seek a diagnosis and treatment after a head injury, especially if they were unconscious, and an early diagnosis can lead to a better recovery. Signs of a concussion include headaches, nausea or vomiting, exhaustion, dizziness, vision problems, sensitivity to light and sound, problems with attention and memory, brain fog, unusual irritability or sadness, and unusual sleep patterns.

What’s the most common treatment for a traumatic brain injury?
Treatment for a traumatic brain injury will be different depending on the severity of the problem. For mild injuries, treatment may involve rest and over-the-counter pain or headache medication. For moderate or severe injuries, treatment may involve stabilisation, medication, and rehabilitative therapies such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cognitive therapy, and counselling.

How long does it take to recover from traumatic brain injury?
The recovery time for a traumatic brain injury depends on the individual and the severity and nature of the injury; the length of time spent unconscious is often an indicator of severity. Recovery time for mild injuries may be a week or two while recovery time for more severe injuries may be six months to two years. Research suggests that the vast majority of recovery occurs in the first two years after an injury; recovery after that time frame is less certain.

What if a traumatic brain injury is left untreated?
If a traumatic brain injury is left untreated, it can lead to long-term physical and mental health problems. Physical problems may include dizziness, headaches, vision, healing, or speech loss, and an elevated risk of dementia. Psychological problems may include impairments of memory, judgment, and decision-making, depression, aggression, poor impulse control, and personality changes.
