I provide psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families, for children, youth, and adults.
If you are carrying something heavy in your life, memories, emotions, or experiences that feel hard to hold, you do not have to face it alone. In our work together, we will gently explore your story, honour your feelings, and move at a pace that feels safe. Together, we will set meaningful goals, strengthen your inner resources, and develop practical skills that support growth and healing. My approach is client-centred, trauma-informed, and integrative, with a focus on parts work (IFS). I have supported diverse clients of all ages navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, suicidality, relationships, and many other life challenges.

I've worked with youth, adults, older adults, and BIPOC communities, with crisis intervention experience including a national crisis line, ASIST, and crisis response training.
You’ve been strong for so long, for everyone else, through everything. And somewhere along the way, you may have lost the thread back to yourself.
The individuals (16+) I work with often feel like they’re done just getting through it. They’re grieving, healing from trauma, carrying anxiety, or rebuilding after rupture. Many are navigating life between cultures, holding identities that don’t always fit neatly into the spaces they’re given. Many live with ADHD or neurodivergence in systems that were never designed for them.
They are resilient. And they deserve support that actually sees them.

I work with people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, often after feeling misunderstood, unseen, or carrying things alone for too long. Sometimes it’s a slow build, other times something unexpected shifts everything. I support clients navigating trauma (PTSD), substance use, childhood wounds, self-esteem, grief, and relationship or communication challenges. Together, we make sense of what’s coming up, identify patterns, and create space for change so you can move forward with more clarity, self-understanding, and direction.

Are you stuck in a pattern of people-pleasing, overanalyzing, and intense anxiety / panic that feel impossible to control? Maybe you were the scapegoat in a family with emotionally immature parents, having to basically raise yourself? You keep trying harder, working harder, doing more, but you're exhausted and constantly walking on eggshells, waiting for the other shoe to drop. You've tried all the things - self-help, meditation, gym, yoga, breathwork, maybe self-medicating with substances - but nothing works for long. You're stuck in functional freeze, your nervous system is shut-down, and you long for a sense of safety

Do you feel weighed down by overwhelm, uncertainty, or emotional heaviness that leaves you feeling stuck? Maybe past experiences keep surfacing in the present, making it hard to feel like yourself, move forward, or connect in your relationships. Often, these struggles are rooted in deeper experiences that haven’t yet been fully understood or processed. I help clients uncover and address the root causes of what’s showing up, process trauma, and create meaningful, lasting change through insight, healing, and intentional action.

How is fear impacting your life? From problems that make you feel paralyzed, to uncomfortable feelings that are difficult to identify, trying to figure it out on your own can be confusing and scary. I offer a nonjudgmental therapeutic lens where you can feel safe to explore your patterns and past. I created Dune Psychotherapy to be a collaborative practice, where we work together to move towards an authentic version of yourself.

Parents I work with are often looking to strengthen their relationship with their child or teen, wanting to better support their children when they have strong or overwhelming emotions, or, feel overwhelmed with parenting at times.
I specialize in working with the parents of children and teens who are "supefeelers", or who may experience emotions more intensely than others. If it feels like you've tried it all and conventional parenting strategies (or even what worked with other children you've parented!) either don't work or makes things worse, then I can help.

What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.
How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.
How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.
How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
