I specialize in supporting individuals navigating challenges related to intimacy, sexuality, and relationships, including mismatched desire, difficulty communicating about sex, body image concerns, and feeling disconnected from yourself or your partner.
Many people struggle with intimacy, communication, or feeling disconnected in their relationships, but talking about these experiences can feel vulnerable or even shameful. Therapy can offer a safe space to explore these challenges with curiosity and compassion. Taking a collaborative approach, I meet you where you are and work alongside you to build a strong therapeutic relationship. I believe you are the expert in your own life and healing; my role is to provide guidance, insight, and practical tools that support your growth and self-discovery in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

I consider it a special privilege to be able to work with individuals, couples and families as they try to navigate the challenges that life can bring. I do not see myself as the 'expert' in a person's life or experience but work with my clients to help them to break down the barriers that can get in the way of being the person, couple or family that they would prefer to be. My approach is collaborative and I believe that a strong therapeutic connection creates a climate for change that can have lasting results.

When we’re caught in the struggle we can feel hopeless. We may notice things that use to help aren’t helping. We may have lost motivation to try, as a result of this. It’s common to get caught in the suggestions of others, or online searching for something that may help. We may not know where to start but know, we don’t want to keep feeling/thinking/living as is. Therapy services can help us find a starting point, then develop a plan and act on making change, all while supported by a regulated professional in the field.

I specialize in relationship dynamics, sex therapy, and life transitions.
There are moments when we may feel alone in what we’re carrying. When our circumstances consistently fail to meet our needs, feelings of frustration can naturally arise. In session with me, I take on a holistic approach to your life. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to openly discuss what you are going through and the goals/dreams you wish to move closer to. I often consider myself like a coach on a team. I will always be in your corner, cheering you on, but that doesn't mean that I am not going to help push you towards the goals that you set for yourself.

Are you finding yourself having the same argument with your partner, again and again? Repeating painful patterns that leave you feeling unheard, disconnected, or stuck? Are your emotions overwhelming, or maybe you’re feeling numb and unsure why? If any of this resonates, you’re not alone. Many people find themselves caught in loops they can’t seem to break, whether in relationships, with their emotions, or in the way they see themselves. Therapy is a space where you can begin to understand these patterns, reconnect with your sense of self, and move toward change, at your own pace.

Sexuality and sexual behaviours can also be challenging for some but, I am passionate about working with individuals and couples of all genders, orientations, races and ethnicities.
Coming from a culture that reveres our elders, I am interested in issues facing seniors. Mobility concerns, diminishing sexual capacity, physical and mental decline and end of life concerns are generally not addressed by our youth-obsessed societies. My role is to help you learn to cope with change.

Common topics that arise in sessions are depression, anxiety, relationships (to self and others), identity, sexuality, shame, suicidality & more.
I promise to focus on fostering a genuine therapeutic relationship with you. I will bring my whole self to our sessions with a grounded, curious, & kind demeanour. I believe that therapy should feel warm & relational, while being a space where you will feel challenged & seen. Starting with a new therapist can feel intimidating, & I will do my best to ensure the beginning stages of this, beautiful yet complicated process feel approachable. If you are hoping to understand yourself & your past more, meet self with more kindness, and feel like life & its complexities aren't as daunting, please reach out. I would love to hear from you.

Sex Therapy
Who is sex therapy for?
Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.

Why do people need sex therapy?
Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.

What happens in sex therapy?
People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.

What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?
Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
