Support for anxiety, stress, burnout, depression, grief, feeling stuck, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns and issues related to women's health & well-being.
On the outside you seem to have it all together but inside you’re just holding on. Responsibilities, relationships, and expectations leave little time or energy for yourself. You may struggle to set boundaries, feel emotionally disconnected, or be drained by unresolved experiences. Trauma shapes how you see yourself and relate to others, showing up as shame, people-pleasing, low self-esteem or anxiety which can take the form of overthinking, restlessness, or the pressure to be perfect. It affects your emotions, relationships, and sense of self, making it harder to feel at home in your life. You wonder if you’ll ever feel relief.

I work with people of all ages, including children and youth as well as adults and seniors who are facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, body image, relationships, sexuality, grief, loss, life changes, spirituality, disconnectedness among other issues.
I use various methods, including body-centred psychotherapy. This method looks at sensations, breath and movement as the body's way of expressing. If we just take the time to listen to the body we can complete and release stored trauma, relearn how to feel positive emotions and move forward in a happy, joyful life.

Have you been feeling stuck and unable to change how you feel or act? Most likely you have been effected by experiences from your past. Consciously you may understand the value of changing a behaviour, but unless your deeper mind is transformed, change is not likely. Attempting to bring about enduring change without eliminating these "ghosts from the past" is like trying to repair the structure of a building by applying a coat of paint. Using a gentle, painless, and fun approach to therapy, I create immediate and lasting change through brain-changing conversations, teaching you how to stress-proof and play your brain for change.

As human beings, we evolved listening to each other’s stories. I believe this is how we heal, by connecting with each other. In fact, I know this is true: I grew up in a traumatic and addicted family system, and am no stranger to therapeutic healing. I have dedicated my life to helping others navigate the often tricky business of extricating themselves from being stuck, of choosing a life with more authenticity. Finding a balance between the demands of work, home and self care can feel impossible. You may have sleep issues, rely on self-destructive behaviours, or just not know how to move forward. I’m here to help.

Grief Counsellors

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
