We all long to be seen, heard and known. Sometimes, it seems hard to even understand ourselves much less connect meaningfully with those around us. Whether you find yourself in a season of stress, a painful upheaval or a life transition, I would consider it a privilege to see, hear and walk alongside you.

I believe therapy works best when it feels less like an appointment and more like a genuine partnership. As a team, we will follow your lead, explore the patterns and stories that have shaped you, and find the moments where something new becomes possible. I bring curiosity, warmth, and the occasional well-timed laugh to every session, because healing doesn't have to be heavy every step of the way. This is your process and your pace. I'm just here to walk alongside you, ask the right questions, and trust that you already hold more than you think you do. This is a space to pause, breathe and meet yourself, often for the first time.

Are you sick and tired of feeling sick and tired? Tired of the hiding and secrecy that surround your drinking. Even if you present well and have been able to manage your professional career, does self doubt or strong emotions have you turning to alcohol for a feeling of relief that is only short lived and leaves you worse off than before? Alcohol has become ubiquitous as a stress reliever in society but often leaves even worse scars and brings risk of unhealthy or unsafe behaviours, relationship ruptures and general suffering.

I work with women who are feeling disconnected from themselves and others, often struggling with people-pleasing, driven by perfectionism and are feeling burnt out by self-imposed patterns of overachieving. If this sounds like you, you're not alone and I can help! My approach goes beyond surface-level solutions and instead encourages a deep-dive into looking at thoughts, feelings, and behaviours which once served a helpful purpose but may no longer feel aligned with your goals.

I am a registered psychotherapist ( qualifying) specializing in trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and cultural or intergenerational experiences. I help clients understand why they feel the way they do, not just manage symptoms, but actually process and shift them.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO and hold additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy.
You might not arrive with a clear story, but you know something isn’t working the way it used to. Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or quietly dissatisfied underneath the surface. Many people I work with function well on the outside while carrying questions, frustrations, or patterns that don’t have much room to be explored. Therapy with me offers a place to slow down and make sense of what’s been showing up.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
