You may look like you are managing but inside you feel exhausted, disconnected, or carrying a grief nobody around you fully understands. I am a Registered Nurse and Registered Psychotherapist. This combination is rare, and it changes what healing is possible. I bring 18 years of clinical nursing experience alongside psychotherapy, treating the whole of you: nervous system, mind, and history.

I support clients who feel they are ‘holding it together’ on the outside, but inside they're overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure of themselves. Life can be messy and unpredictable, and it doesn’t always go the way we expect. As humans, we struggle with self-doubt, second-guessing decisions, and emotional and physical stress. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space for honest conversations, where clients process relationship challenges, loss, life transitions, faith questions, childhood wounds, caregiver/academic stress, and envisioning the future.

Perhaps you’re down, anxious, or facing a crossroads in your life. Maybe you are unsure about the future of a relationship, or feel that you aren’t really living the life you were meant to lead. Life brings hardship and pain to all of us - there is no escaping it - some more than others. I want to hear your story, hear your challenges - and work together to write your next chapter. I believe that each of us have inherent strengths and values that shape the trajectory in which life takes us - building from this, I work with people to consider how these inner strengths are useful in combating mental health challenges and struggles.

Sometimes life seems stuck and miserable, however, everyone can make a change in their life. Every person is unique and deserves respect and care. In the therapy room, therapist and client work together as an alliance to break out the old maladaptive patterns, help them learn adaptive coping skills, improve insight to see “problems” from different perspectives, repair the relationship, and promote personal growth.

My approach is relational and emotionally focused, drawing from EFT, family systems, narrative therapy, existential therapy, and spiritually integrated approaches to support connection, clarity, and resilience.
You may be navigating a life transition, illness, family/relationship stress or be in a time of grief. During these times of crises, our fears, shame, and self-doubt can creep in, which can leave us feeling lonely, isolated, and stuck. It can all feel overwhelming. Many of those I work with feel overwhelmed, emotionally stretched, or disconnected from themselves and their relationships. You may be looking for support that feels compassionate, relational, and culturally responsive during a time of change.

I work with South Asian women in their 20s and early 30s who, on the outside, have so much to be proud of, but internally may feel overwhelmed at times, question their self-worth or experience dating and relationship challenges. Your day to day might also involve balancing everyone else's needs, which can sometimes make it feel like you so rarely get to fully prioritize yourself.

Learning Les Greenberg’s Emotion-Focused Therapy, Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (Levels I and II), Internal Family Systems (informed), have shaped the inner child therapy I provide.
I offer therapy for people who want to get to the root of their issues. I am not afraid of big emotions, not afraid to go deep. Self-criticism can paralyze you emotionally. I have learned through 21 years of being a therapist that repairing your relationship with your innermost self can help you see your value and stop the barrage of pressure and harsh expectations. A safe place to be yourself...with a caring witness to your struggles. You are the expert of your own experience and as a team, you and I can hack a way through the dense bush of your life (and it is tough out there!) to search for your most authentic self.

I am passionate about working with people who want to understand themselves more deeply and use that to build a more authentic life. I believe in the power of connection—our society puts enormous pressure on people while leaving them increasingly isolated, and I don't think anyone should have to carry that burden alone. I offer a space where you can feel safe in your body, safe with me, and safe to be yourself. I welcome all of you, including the parts that feel messy, painful, or hard to look at. Growth takes time, and I would love to be present with you during that process and to help you make sense of what comes up along the way.

Emotionally Focused Counsellors
Who is emotionally focused therapy for?
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?
People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?
Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?
EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
