3 years, and I specialize in CPTSD in teens and young adults, as well as ADHD through experience.
Everyone is unique and presents their own challenges. Through education, experience, authenticity, and a touch of humour, I employ a number of different modalities to counsel individuals and families. Though I lean on an integrated narrative-existential approach through a person centred focus, I also use solutions-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, as well as acceptance and commitment therapy and cognitive behaviour therapy. I can provide short term therapy, but I am also in for the long haul with you.

Do you feel weighed down by anxiety, shame, or self-doubt? Have painful experiences or toxic relationships left you stuck in patterns like people-pleasing, perfectionism, or self-blame? Is your inner critic louder than your own voice, leaving you exhausted from holding it all together?
If you’ve tried therapy before and felt reduced to a checklist of symptoms, my work is different. I see your patterns as survival strategies that once kept you safe—even if they hold you back now. Therapy is a space to slow down, feel truly heard, and make sense of the experiences that shaped you so you can move toward a life that feels fulfilling.

Life can sometimes make us feel overwhelmed, anxious or like we’re roaming without any sense of direction. It can be a struggle to gain traction and to figure out what is making us feel the emotions we do or behave the way we do. We can begin to lose sight of who we are and what our purpose is. If you feel "stuck", it can help to find a trusted professional who listens to your story and works with you to untangle the ball of emotions. All too often we focus on the negative things in life without much attention paid to what is going well. Balance in life is key, and once it's restored, positive change can occur.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
