Thinking outside the box approach to traditional therapy, because no one individual fits neatly inside a box. Working together, using CBT and neurologic techniques to support you in your area or areas of need, music psychotherapy draws from traditional talk therapy while offering ways to move forward in who you are, both verbally and non-verbally. Using music offers a non-evasive and trusting medium within a clinical session and translates into a coping skill within everyday life. Please contact me for either Telehealth or in-person sessions.

I work with individuals who want to improve their relationships with themselves and with others. They find themselves in the same relationship cycles, making the same decisions about partners even when they know it hurts them. They often find themselves saying "I don't know how I got here again." These same individuals have an interest in getting to know who they truly are and what leads them down a path of hurt and pain. They are seeking better self understanding and most of all healing. Some of these reasons may include childhood pain, self esteem concerns or trauma. Whatever the reason, we work together to find the answers.

As a therapist, I believe that every person is the expert of their own story and personal journey. It is very important to me that co-create a collaborative, trusting and compassionate therapeutic relationship with my clients. This type of relationship fosters trust and a willingness for openness that will benefit the therapeutic journey substantially. I place emphasis on strengths and personal expertise that already exists within each and every client, to foster positive self image and confidence. Mindfully tending to our needs and caring for ourselves through compassion promotes acceptance of who we truly are.

How incredible would it be to live with purpose and meaning, to be the co-creator of your life? Working alongside you, I help you explore how you may be walking and showing up in the world that doesn’t allow your authentic, true self to emerge. I help you make peace with the layers, feelings and pain from the past, and empower you to recognize your freedom and ability to chose your own path, embracing the life you want.

Would you like to understand your attachment “blueprint”? Do you feel anxious in relationships and want to increase calm, joy and trust? Do you have a pattern of people-pleasing, overworking and feeling burnt out? If so, we'll start by exploring the styles, patterns, strategies and past experiences which shape how you think, feel and act. Then, we'll build cognitive and body-based strategies to build a foundation of self-trust and "home" in your body when facing intense feelings, emotions and thoughts. Lastly, we'll practice setting boundaries, communicating assertively and increasing self-compassion to meet your own needs.

Sometimes there are no words that can accurately express to another what we feel. Other times, we may not even know ourselves what it is we're feeling or experiencing. In moments of this kind of suffering I offer space and time to explore what it is like for you and to just be. You are the expert of your life; curiosity and interest of your processes and experiences guide my support for you in the present. Working together does not mean one leads and the other follows but rather to be aware of how we impact one another and to notice what is happening for ourselves in the moment.

Relationships are hard. Both with ourselves and with the people we love the most. I can help you with these issues to develop a healthy relationship with yourself (working through trauma, addiction, anxiety, etc), and others (developing boundaries, self-respect, and assertiveness). I don’t just offer a listening ear, but I provide consistent, authentic, and transparent feedback so that you know who you are in the world and develop a consciousness to thrive past your limitations.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In Canada, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or province where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
How much does therapy cost?
Some forms of mental health treatment (for example, seeing a psychiatrist, or seeing a psychologist in a government-funded hospital) are free under provincial health plans. Canadians who seek private counseling can typically expect to pay an average of $150 per session, although the actual price generally ranges between $100 and $3200 per session, depending on their location and the type of provider they select. Workplace benefits or private insurance plans often provide an annual counselling allowance, and some therapists offer sliding scale fees to clients who cannot pay full price.
