Clients often come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns shaped by childhood experiences, cultural pressures, systemic oppression, and generational trauma. I work with children, teens, and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, emotional regulation, identity, and relationship challenges. I bring a unique perspective through my work with men in federal prisons across Ontario, supporting individuals facing trauma, addiction, violence, and complex family dynamics. I also facilitated a 12-week group psycho-educational IPV program focused on accountability, emotional regulation, and what healthy relationships are for men.

I also have extensive experience and training in working with clients who are experiencing emotional and narcissistic abuse, anxiety, depression and childhood trauma.
Over my 36 years of counselling I most enjoy working with clients who are committed and motivated to ‘do the work’. My expertise is in the areas of anxiety, depression, emotional abuse, Critical Incident Stress & Trauma, PTSD and Complex-PTSD. Most of my clients have priorities that compete with the time they have for self care so I focus on facilitating the achievement of your counselling goals in a patient but progressive pace so you feel better faster. Much like a family doctor I build lasting relationships with my clients who come back for support whenever needed so you don’t have to start all over again every time.

Life has a way of pulling us away from ourselves. Whether you're navigating divorce, relationship challenges, family conflict, career change, or simply feeling stuck, it can become difficult to know what's true anymore. We spend so much energy managing everyone else, solving problems, or searching for answers that we lose touch with ourselves. My role isn't to tell you what to do. It's to help you slow down, understand your patterns, regulate your nervous system, and reconnect with your own inner wisdom so you can move forward with greater clarity, confidence and intention.

My clients face a wide range of issues including: Depression, anxiety, chronic pain, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), life transitions, career transitions, relationship challenges and parenting issues. When I first start working with clients, we develop a list of goals that they would like to work towards so that our work is focused and directed. Some examples of goals my clients have worked towards and achieved include: acquiring tools to feel more in control of their depression and/or anxiety, becoming more assertive with others, improving their relationships and feeling more fulfilled with their career.

Sometimes the overwhelm can feel too much to handle alone. In moments like this, it’s easy to shut down or disconnect from what you’re feeling just to get through the day. Anger may show up, not out of nowhere, but from feelings that never had a chance to be understood or expressed. I offer you a space where you can bring your story—the experiences, the emotions, and the things you’ve been holding onto for so long. Together, we’ll work through what’s unresolved, gently process experiences that continue to affect you, and create space for clearer moments and feeling present in your life and your relationships.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Counsellors
What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
