With over 31 years of experience, I’ve supported individuals and families in acute care and outpatient settings, giving me a deep understanding of both emotional and physical challenges and how to guide clients toward clarity, relief, and balance.
I also support high-performing individuals who seem “fine” outwardly and depleted on the inside, women navigating perimenopause/menopause, parents of children with Autism and other mental health considerations, adult children caring for aging parents, and healthcare professionals facing compassion fatigue or burnout.

Life can sometimes get complicated when we least expect it, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Often, the first step to turning things around is realizing you are not alone. When someone is: listened to, cared for, and encouraged in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment, life changing discoveries can be made. Building on your strengths, exploring your thought patterns and uncovering solutions that align with your goals and values is what therapy means to me. I would be honoured to be a resource for you on your journey towards healing, growth, and resilience.

As a clinical psychologist, I offer treatment for adults and couples. My typical client is a couple struggling with the lingering impact of trauma, conflict, and disconnection. They are usually seeking therapy to foster healing, growth, and a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationship. They are often looking to rebuild trust, overcome emotional barriers, and nurture healthier, more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others. Ultimately, couples want to feel more empowered to experience love in a way that feels safe, meaningful, and authentic. I am only accepting clients for -couples intensives- at this time.

During our initial sessions, we will gather your family history, presenting issues and concerns, and collaborate together on a plan for helping you to work towards your goals through therapy.
Do you feel misunderstood or like you want to escape from painful memories, thoughts, and/or emotions? Do you feel stuck as though you are unable to move forward in life? Do you struggle with people-pleasing, relationship conflict, chronic illness, or feel emotionally disconnected? If any of this applies to you, please know that you are not alone. It is normal to feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and disappointed when life appears to be passing us by and we feel stuck or held back by our past experiences. Having a therapist who provides a trauma-informed and client centred approach is essential in these cases.

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
