I support people through family and relationship conflicts and work to enhance coping strategies to manage challenges like anxiety, depression, anger, stress, perfectionism, low self-esteem, weight management, and dysfunctional parent-child relationships due to mental illness.
I feel it is essential to build a strong therapeutic relationship with each client right from the start to ensure a safe and comfortable space to share, heal and grow. I believe in the importance of working collaboratively with each person; establishing goals and working together to decide on a plan to achieve these goals. I like to facilitate the development of self-awareness and the ability to recognize the connections within different areas of our lives.

Anxiety, depression, and anger are some other common issues that often come up.
I specialize in helping people who are struggling with addiction issues and/or anxiety and mood disorders. I really enjoy working with ‘stuck’ clients. Those people who know they want or need change but aren’t sure how to get there. You are not broken, and you do not need to be fixed. You might be feeling a little lost though. Let me serve as a guide to walk with you and show you some possible ways out. You don't need to commit to any long term therapy or all the 'what ifs' at this point. All you need to do is reach out and make that first connection. Let's have a conversation about what's going on.

Feeling stuck in love, communication, or connection? Relationships can feel confusing and overwhelming, whether you’re facing a break-up, struggling with recurring patterns, or unsure how to connect in meaningful ways. You may have tried managing it on your own, yet the sadness, frustration, or uncertainty keeps building, leaving you unsure of what comes next. Heartbreak can bring loneliness, grief, and persistent thoughts about what went wrong or what you could have done differently. You don’t have to navigate relationship challenges or heartbreak alone.

I bring a deep, sustained passion for this work, supporting individuals navigating addiction, trauma, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, OCD, and ADHD, as well as broader experiences of neurodivergence.
Looking for an experienced therapist can feel overwhelming—especially when life feels heavy. I bring 25 years of experience supporting people quietly struggling with overwhelm, perfectionism, emotional intensity, anxiety, mental restlessness, or neurodivergence. Often, there hasn’t been space to explore what’s underneath. Together, we’ll uncover patterns, make sense of your experiences, and find practical strategies to help you feel more grounded and in control.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship issues, my focus is on creating a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your emotions, build resilience, and find healing.
Being overly worried about what others think takes up a lot of time and energy, often leaving you feeling overwhelmed and burnt out. Trying to balance your time between school and work can make it difficult to connect with others on a deeper level and maintain meaningful relationships. You’re tired of feeling lonely and worthless. You’re not where you want to be and want to make a change. Experiencing these emotions doesn’t mean that they have to take over your life — I am here to support you in better managing them when they show up.

You experience intense emotions and you don’t always know why. You alternate between feeling flooded with feelings of anger or sadness and feeling completely cut off. Sometimes your emotions come with intense reactions followed by feelings of shame for how you responded. Things from the past are catching up to you and not allowing you to be the best version of yourself. You might not have found the tools to face it as a couple or individually. As a therapist, I don’t believe that we are broken and in need of fixing; we are hurt and in need of care.

What is the goal of therapy for depression?
Therapy for depression has several major goals. One is to relieve the mental pain of depression, which distorts feeling and thinking so that sufferers cannot see beyond their current state of mind or envision feeling better. Another is to give people the mental tools to recognise and correct the kinds of distorted thinking that turn a problem into a catastrophe and lead to despair. Therapy also teaches people how to process negative emotions in constructive ways, so they have more control over their own emotional reactivity. And it helps people regain the ability to see themselves positively, the motivation to do things, and the capacity for pleasure.

What happens in therapy for depression?
Perhaps most important, no matter the type of therapy, patients form an alliance with the therapist; that connection is therapeutic in itself, plus it becomes an instrument of change. Patients learn to identify and to challenge their own erroneous beliefs and thoughts that amplify the effects of negative experiences. They learn to identify situations in which they are especially vulnerable. And they learn new patterns of thinking and behaving. They may be given “homework” assignments in which they practice their developing skills. In addition, good therapists regularly monitor patients to assess whether and how much the condition is improving.

What therapy types help with depression?
Several types of short-term therapy have been found effective, each targeting one or more areas of dysfunction. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) helps clients challenge their negative thoughts and beliefs, learn new behavioral strategies, and curb reactivity to distressing situations. Behavioural activation (BA) is a form of therapy often used in conjunction with CBT; it focuses on engagement in rewarding activity as a pathway to changing negative feelings and disturbed mood. Another widely used approach is interpersonal therapy (IPT), which targets the social difficulties that both give rise to and get exacerbated by depression. Therapists may combine approaches as needed.

Can therapy for depression be done online?
Studies have found that online therapy can be highly effective for treating depression, although it may be more challenging to build a good therapist-patient alliance on screen than in person—at least at first. However, online therapy can offer considerable advantages. Accessibility and convenience are tops among them. Some people actually find it easier to talk about problems online than in person. While online therapy typically limits visibility of facial expression and body gestures that give important nonverbal cues to a patient’s state of mind, it can give therapists a glimpse into a patient’s world and life, providing information that can be highly useful in guiding therapy.

How effective is therapy for depression?
Many studies show that therapy is highly effective provided that patients complete the prescribed course of therapy, commonly 16 to 20 sessions. Over the long term, it is more effective than medication and the effects are more enduring. As a result, psychotherapy has the power not just to relieve current suffering but to prevent future episodes of the disorder. Therapy reverses the dysfunction in neural circuitry that disposes individuals to a negative view of themselves, the world, and their future and they acquire coping techniques, problem-solving skills, and understanding of their own vulnerabilities that are useful over the course of a lifetime.
