You may be noticing feeling on edge much of the time, struggling in your relationships, feeling like you are failing, or not good enough in some way.
We have worked with many First Responders dealing with PTSD, depression, relationship issues, or anxiety. Working as a First Responder comes with unique challenges. We have some understanding of the culture, the impact of hot calls, the challenges with sleep and shift work, and the negative impact this can have on your relationships.

I help teens and adults facing trauma, anxiety, relationship struggles, and self-loss.
As the days get shorter, I often meet people who feel their inner world shifting too. The energy they had in summer fades, routines feel heavier, and even simple tasks take more effort. They’re not “falling behind”—they’re trying to make sense of emotions that arrive with the colder months. What they really want is to feel grounded again, to understand what’s happening inside, and to move through this season with more compassion and steadiness. And together, we work toward helping them feel like themselves again.

I am trained in Emotionally Focused Couples, Family, and Individual therapy (EFT), and bring a client-centred approach to help you work through what you are dealing with.
It can be hard to know where to start when looking for a therapist. I offer an honest, supportive, and non-judgmental space to explore all that has happened in the past to consider where you want to go moving forward. Therapy is meant to offer a confidential outlet to explore all that you are, and all that you have been through. This exploration is done together, with unbiased support to move towards areas of growth. My clinical training in attachment-based approaches informs our sessions to help uncover patterns in your story, to help identify your strengths and cultivate the life you want.

Licensed to work with adults, couples, adolescents, children and families.
Sometimes life becomes ridiculously challenging and overwhelming. Coping with life is something we all need to do. Having good mental health is something we all deserve. Even an olympic swimmer can not swim through a tidal wave. I'm not sure what you are going through or what you need. That's our task. My job...to meet you where you are (emotionally and psychologically) and help you get to where you want to go. We will figure out how you got there, how to cope and next steps. Whether your past is interfering with the present, or the present is just hard; being the best version of ourselves is what we all want.

At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship.
My own lived experience deeply informs my work. Having walked through the complexities of trauma, identity, anxiety, grief, uncertainty, and change, and as a cancer survivor, I have come to understand the power of inner healing. These experiences have gifted me a profound connection to compassion, authenticity, and safe use of self in the therapeutic space.

Couples Counselling

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
