I blend compassionate counselling, nervous system healing, and somatic practice to guide you beyond mindset alone into grounded embodiment and felt safety—for deep and meaningful change.
Do you find yourself easily overwhelmed and depleted? Do you struggle with relentless patterns of overthinking, compulsions, and self-criticism? Perhaps even your physical well-being is affected. Over time, these patterns unsettle your confidence, stir up fear, and blur your sense of self. You know something isn’t working, but you don’t know how to make a shift. I'm here to tell you that you don’t need to push harder—you need a path back to yourself. Therapy with me offers a gentle space to quiet the noise, reconnect with the wisdom of your emotions and body, and begin to untangle the patterns that are stealing your peace.

I work with adults who are struggling internally but still functioning in their day-to-day lives. They may be dealing with symptoms related to anxiety, depression, trauma, or significant life transitions, and often feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. Many are thoughtful and self-aware, yet find themselves repeating the same patterns despite insight. I help clients understand the processes of maintaining these patterns—across thoughts, emotions, and behaviours—and work with them to create meaningful, lasting change through a structured, intentional approach.

As an RP(Q), I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic (body-based) approaches to gently explore parts of you—like the overthinker, protector, or overwhelmed part—while supporting your nervous system in finding greater safety and regulation.
Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming—especially when you’ve been carrying a lot on your own. Whether you’re navigating the impact of trauma, working in a high-stress environment, or feeling stuck in patterns that are hard to break, you don’t have to go through it alone. I work with individuals who have experienced trauma, abuse, or difficult life events, as well as first responders and military personnel navigating the cumulative impact of high-pressure roles. I offer a safe, supportive space where you can slow things down, make sense of your experiences, and begin to feel more grounded and in control.

With advanced training in EMDR and additional training in parts work, somatic, and emotion-focused approaches, I support emotional processing and meaningful change.
Welcome, I’m Alicia. I use EMDR therapy to process trauma and experiences that still shape how you feel, think, and respond. This work targets what remains stuck beneath the surface and creates real, lasting change. Together, we make sense of patterns, build self-trust, and shift how you relate to yourself and others. My style is direct, grounded, and attuned, offering a space that is both supportive and focused, where meaningful work can unfold. Alongside trauma work, I support athletes and creatives in clearing blocks, accessing flow, and performing with clarity and confidence.

The cornerstone of my therapeutic approach is safety. It is rooted in collaboration, connection, attunement, neuroscience, trauma sensitivity, cultural responsiveness and social justice. Together we will explore a universe of resources found in your personal history, somatics, in nature, science & spirituality. Collectively we will embark on expanding awareness based on your capacity to safely unravel the subconscious considering epigenetics and intergenerational affliction and systemic maladies. You will have the option of working with the herd of 4 horses and a donkey who will inject an added layer of insight to your sessions.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
