Our lives are not entirely defined by what has happened to us but rather by how we choose to make sense of it and who we choose to become as a result. My vocation and commitment to supporting individuals to overcome adversity, trauma, and problems in living are rooted in the Ubuntu philosophy. Providing support across all age groups, I promote inner self-discovery and self-mastery. I offer unique individual-specific approaches to empower self-actualization by challenging unhelpful beliefs, improving self-concept, working through painful experiences, accessing resources, and changing unhealthy habits to live more authentically.

Tired of insight without real change? Traditional talk therapy can be validating - but insight alone doesn’t shift the patterns that keep you stuck. If you’ve done the work but life still isn’t improving, you’re not alone. Real healing happens when we include the body, the nervous system, and the deeper wisdom of who you are. Whether you’re navigating trauma, burnout, anxiety, or something harder to name, we’ll listen together for what your system is truly asking for. This is where things can finally begin to shift. This work goes far beyond talk. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

My focus is supporting folks navigating trauma, PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, self-esteem & more!
Change, growth, and life transitions—whether expected or not—are part of being human. Even seemingly small experiences can leave lasting impacts, affecting how we function day to day. Many of us carry unresolved experiences or painful memories from our past that still influence our present. You might have been taught, directly or indirectly, that staying silent or pushing these things aside is the “right” way to cope. But if that approach is no longer working, you may find yourself feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally drained, or like life is spiraling out of control.

Have you been told by loved ones to go to therapy? On paper your life looks ‘fine’ - you excel at work, hobbies or school but deep down you feel disconnected. Growing up, you never felt like your problems were big enough to matter or that others had it worse. You always had food on the table but you never felt like you belonged or that you were good enough. You cruised through life, avoiding emotions and conflict until suddenly everything came crashing to the surface. You’re ready for change but you don’t know where to start. I’m here to help you uncover the real you and connect again.

As someone with ADHD myself, I take an affirming and informed approach to therapy.
Do you struggle with low mood an feelings of not-good-enough? Are there times you really want to do something but still find yourself unable to start? Do you find you are very critical of yourself but find compassion for others? Do you often feel misunderstood? Can it be difficult at times to manage your emotions? Have you felt too much and not enough all at the same time? Couples - are you having trouble connecting? Do you feel like you are playing against each other instead of on the same team? Do you worry about your future together? These are things we can talk about in therapy, even before you experience a crisis.

Do you find yourself overwhelmed by anxiety and worry, no matter what you try? Do you seem to “have it all together” on the outside - but inside, you’re constantly battling anxiety and worry? You’ve accomplished a lot, yet instead of peace, you feel on edge or stuck. Maybe a recent life change - a breakup, new school or job, move, or shift in family dynamics - has only amplified the anxiety that’s been bubbling beneath the surface. Deep down, you know something needs to shift, even if you’re not exactly sure what. You’re ready to understand yourself more, break old patterns, and finally feel calmer and more grounded.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
