At times we all experience overwhelm—relationship struggles, uncertainty, loss, or the resurfacing of past trauma. These moments often call for support and a fresh perspective to help us process complex thoughts and emotions. You may feel stuck, exhausted, disappointed, or impacted by imposter syndrome as you try to navigate change. I use a holistic, integrative spiritual approach that may include somatic techniques, Havening, EMDR, Inner Child, Hypnosis, Sound and psychoeducation. These modalities offer a diverse, evidence-informed pathway to support your goals, facilitate change, and deepen your self-understanding.

Together we can explore a deeper connection with yourself, your body & your purpose. My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by my own challenges with the mental health system; I understand that therapy is not a one size fits all type of journey. My approach is friendly & warm; book a free call and see if working together feels right.

For the last 7 years, I have worked with survivors of trauma - including sexual violence, familial violence, racial trauma, homophobia, among others - to address and process their experiences. My approach to therapy is warm, responsive, playful and transparent. I believe that every person benefits from learning about themselves, and that understanding the process of therapy helps with learning about the self. I meet you where you are (literally, in some ways, as I am offering digital therapy), and believe we can move from there. I want therapy to be useful, and welcome honesty, feedback, and laughter in session.

You’ve always put others first. You're keeping the peace, meeting expectations, and making sure no one is disappointed. But lately, it’s exhausting. You feel guilty setting boundaries, struggle with family dynamics, and wonder if you’ll ever feel truly at ease. Stress, self-doubt, and people-pleasing have taken a toll on your well-being. You want to find balance between honouring your cultural values and prioritizing yourself, but you’re unsure how. Therapy can help you untangle these patterns and build the confidence to make choices that align with your needs and not just everyone else’s.

Taking the first step toward self-care and healing can be intimidating! I understand, empathize, and welcome you to share your story within a safe, accepting, and non-judgemental space. Each person is an expert in the story of their own lives – no one knows you better than you know yourself. My role is to help facilitate change, promote positive growth, and foster healing. Using integrative approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and the tools of mindfulness, I help adults and adolescents move past stuck feelings of fear, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

As a clinical forensic psychologist, I focus on risk assessment of individuals with sexual offences, who are before the court, or involved with child protection. I provide comprehensive forensic assessments to assist the courts or child protection in making determinations about sentencing or access to children. Risk assessments can also determine the presence of a sexual/paraphilic disorder that may require additional treatment or intervention.

My clients are thoughtful, capable people who’ve spent years showing up for others but now feel emotionally tired. They may be managing anxiety, depression, or trauma while balancing work, family, and identity pressures. Many describe feeling disconnected from themselves or unsure how to move forward. In therapy, we create space to slow down, unpack what’s weighing on you, and explore new ways to feel grounded, confident, and at peace—with yourself and the life you’re building.

Sexual Abuse Counsellors
How do therapists treat sexual abuse?
A good therapist will be nonjudgmental and possibly demonstrate active listening, repeating back what the client says to show that they have understood. These skills allow people to feel comfortable discussing their traumatic experiences openly. Some important treatment goals are to restore a sense of safety and to rebuild confidence. In addition to working one-on-one with the patient, a therapist might bring in supportive family members to assist the client.

Do you have to talk extensively about sexual abuse in therapy?
Survivors frequently find it difficult to describe what happened to them out loud. They can even still be in a state of denial if the sexual abuse occurred recently. It is important for survivors to acknowledge that what happened isn’t their fault and to challenge and reappraise any unhealthy feelings or thoughts as they arise. Art therapy and play therapy are useful non-verbal means of communication for some survivors.

How long does treatment for sexual abuse take?
Recovery from sexual abuse can be a long and difficult process. Some survivors are able to move on naturally on their own, given time, while others require the guidance of a trained therapist. Therapy needs vary and can range from a few sessions to months or even years. Healing from sexual abuse takes time, and everyone’s journey will look a little different.

Can trauma symptoms caused by sexual abuse come back after treatment?
As occurs in many cases of trauma, survivors of sexual abuse may experience PTSD-like symptoms long after the abuse has ceased or after an initial round of treatment has occurred. In such a case, there is evidence that prolonged exposure therapy is a useful treatment for survivors, and may be more efficacious than supportive counseling alone. While triggers may continue to cause distress, the idea is that, with time and repeated exposure, their power will fade, allowing survivors to move on with their lives.
