Our mission is to help teens and adults suffering from mental health concerns with a personalized, holistic, and integrative approach that leverages therapy, nutrition, mindfulness, and physical activity so they can live healthy and fulfilling lives.
Integrative therapy is all about assessing what you, as a whole person, need to reach your goals while recognizing the strong links between physical, spiritual, and mental health. At Spirit of Health, we support your healing journey by targeting these key areas with a range of evidence-based holistic treatments. Integrative therapy is a form of healing that combines traditional psychotherapies, like CBT and mindfulness-based therapy, with holistic practices, like yoga, reiki, and meditation, and physical approaches like nutrition to facilitate whole-self healing. Unlike traditional psychotherapy, which treats patients with one specific type of therapy over a prolonged period for the mind specifically, an integrative approach acknowledges the mind, body, and spirit connection and how these factors can affect your mental health.

My ideal client is someone navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship challenges — often feeling overwhelmed or disconnected, yet ready for change. Many are South Asian men seeking a safe space to unpack emotions, challenge cultural stigma, and build healthier ways of coping. They want to feel heard, strengthen relationships, and live with more clarity and purpose. They're looking for support that respects their story and helps them move forward with compassion and confidence.

My approach is informed by Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness approaches, and a soul-respecting lens- so you can feel more clarity, peace, and joy.
You’re not broken. You’re carrying parts of you that learned to cope; by shutting down, overthinking, distracting, getting angry, avoiding discomfort, or pulling away. These patterns aren’t random. They started for a reason and are trying to help. In therapy, we get curious about them, so they don’t have to take over. As these parts begin to soften, you feel more calm, clear, confident and more able to show up in your life. If this speaks to you, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

It is my hope through a safe, validating & non judgmental space along with strengths based, mindfulness or narrative approaches to help empower an individual to flourish.
It takes strength and courage to share your story, but when you do, great things happen. Do you ever feel as though the entire world is resting on your shoulders? Feeling burnt out and overwhelmed? As a millennial, navigating the world of dating, work, relationships I know the feeling of being overwhelmed, burnt out and not knowing what to do. As we work together, I can help you recharge and find a calmer balance in your life. Do you often feel weighed down by feelings of navigating a bicultural identity? As a first generation Canadian I understand the difficulties that can arise from creating a balance between our identities.

My approach is deeply rooted in an Africentric, strength-based, and person-centered perspective, blending cognitive and dialectical behavioural therapy, emotional regulation and processing, positive psychology, embodiment, soulfulness, and mindfulness skills.
I see YOU - because I’ve been there too. I know how it feels to carry the weight of self-doubt, to battle the voice that says you’re not enough, and to push through pain in silence. But you don’t have to do it alone. Together, we’ll break through the limiting beliefs, self-sabotaging patterns, and emotional wounds holding you back. I specialize in supporting high-achieving professionals like you. Those who appear to have it all together but are silently struggling. Whether you’re battling imposter syndrome, chronic worry, sadness from childhood wounds, racial trauma, or workplace oppression...

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Counsellors

How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behaviour through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviours and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioural habits.
