My name is Alessia Cerundolo, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Q) at Measuring What Matters. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own. You might not have all the words yet—or even know exactly where to start—and that’s okay. I value creating a space that feels grounded, supportive, and non-judgmental. Therapy with me is not about having the “right” things to say, but about being able to show up honestly, at your own pace. I see therapy as a shared process—one where you bring your experiences, and I help guide exploration, understanding, and change.

At GRO, we see you - the Black woman tired of being the strong one and second-guessing yourself, whether it’s in love or in motherhood. Maybe it’s the gaslighting, manipulation, or feeling unseen in your relationship. Maybe it’s postpartum, burnout, or the weight of always showing up as “the strong one”. Either way, you don’t have to explain every detail to be understood. We offer culturally affirming therapy for Black women ready to heal, grow, and feel like themselves again—with peace, clarity, and confidence.

Many of the clients I work with feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves and want support in understanding what they are experiencing. I take a mind body approach, recognizing that emotional stress often shows up physically in the body. Together, we explore how thoughts, emotions, and physical experiences are connected while developing practical tools to manage challenges more effectively. My goal is to help clients build greater self awareness, strengthen coping skills, improve relationships, and create a stronger sense of balance and well being in their lives.

I work with individuals and couples who sometimes feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves, their relationships, or the life they want to be living. Anxiety, depression, grief, or recurring relationship patterns may feel heavy, or you may be seeking more clarity, balance, and self-understanding. I explore how cultural identity, ethnic background, and other diversity factors shape experiences. You might be hoping to rebuild confidence, improve communication, process difficult experiences, or simply have a space to speak openly without judgment. My goal is to offer a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard.

Infidelity Counsellors
How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
