You feel like you’re constantly performing, managing life's juggle while your own needs stay buried. You’re exhausted by the weight of anxiety, overwhelm, or past patterns that leave you feeling "stuck" in a life that doesn't quite feel like your own. Whether navigating the fog of grief or the noise of chronic stress, you are longing for a space where you can finally exhale. You don’t just want to "manage symptoms"; you want to feel grounded, reconnect with what truly "lights you up," and align your daily life with your authentic self. You are ready to stop carrying it all alone and move toward a life of genuine joy.

My clients are thoughtful, capable people who’ve spent years showing up for others but now feel emotionally tired. They may be managing anxiety, depression, or trauma while balancing work, family, and identity pressures. Many describe feeling disconnected from themselves or unsure how to move forward. In therapy, we create space to slow down, unpack what’s weighing on you, and explore new ways to feel grounded, confident, and at peace—with yourself and the life you’re building.

For many of us, it's easy to allow our mental health to take a backseat in our everyday lives. We may rely on distractions but we know that it’s time to look for support when we look to maintain a healthier relationship with our mental health. I work with seniors, adults, children and teens who are seeking treatment in the management of anger, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, suicidal ideation, school/work, stress/burnout, women’s issues, couple's issues, and family conflict. As a Registered Psychotherapist, my hope is to support clients who are looking to address these matters in a safe and stigma-free zone.

Cognitive Processing (CPT) Counsellors
How does cognitive processing therapy work?
A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.

What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?
Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioural therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.

How long does cognitive processing therapy last?
CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.

How effective is cognitive processing therapy?
A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
