Becoming a mother is life-changing—and it can also be overwhelming. Many new moms experience postpartum anxiety or depression, struggle with mom guilt, feel constant worry, loneliness, or the effects of sleep deprivation. You may love your baby deeply and still feel exhausted, stressed, or unsure if you’re “doing it right.” You are not alone—and you don’t have to navigate this journey by yourself. I’m Stephanie Fallone, a Registered Social Worker with years of experience supporting women through the perinatal period.

I support teens and adults struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image, anxiety, OCD, and self-esteem. I also help parents understand what may be happening, respond with more confidence, and support their child without turning every conversation into conflict.

Feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or lost in a version of your life that no longer fits? You’ve been holding so much — the expectations, the emotions, the invisible weight of everyone else’s needs. You might feel exhausted trying to keep it together, grateful yet angry, high-functioning on the outside but quietly unraveling inside. Life transitions - whether related to perinatal stages, identity, relationships, or loss — often bring these patterns to the surface, along with the inner critic whispering, “You're not enough."

I like to explore what brings people to therapy, and then work with them using emotional regulation techniques, DBT, ACT, IFS, Trauma Focused, and other person-honouring approaches/techniques that would be beneficial to help you reach your goals!
Reaching out for help regarding our mental health isn’t easy. Often times we wrestle with stigmas, stereotypes, low self-esteem, and/or beliefs that therapy is a sign of weakness. I’ve made it my goal to create a safe, open, informative and transformative space for people to work towards mental, physical, and emotional wellness, and grow more into the person they want and were created to be. Often times we feel stuck or burnt by situations and experiences in life, and it becomes difficult to reach out. My desire is that you would allow me the opportunity to come alongside of you and help you move from overwhelmed to overcoming!

I use an integrative approach including CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, somatic approaches, and Exposure and Response Prevention for anxiety and OCD.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you have felt misunderstood, judged, or unseen in other spaces. You may be navigating anxiety, OCD, panic, questions around identity, relationships, or self worth. I work with clients seeking therapy that feels affirming, non judgmental, and grounded in emotional safety, where you do not need to explain or defend who you are in order to be supported.

You’re tired of the Anger and the ADHD brain that won’t shut up. Whether you’re a teen or an adult, you’ve likely hit a wall where feeling overwhelmed has turned into feeling stuck. You’re worried that if things don't change, you’ll push away the people who matter most or stay trapped in this loop forever. I work with young men who are done with the "burnout" and ready to move forward. If you feel like you’re struggling your way through life and losing the battle, it’s time to stop surviving and start actually living.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Counsellors
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behaviour and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behaviour, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioural change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behaviour; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
