My philosophy is rooted in the understanding that life includes struggle and discovering ways to heal, grow and thrive amid these challenges is essential. I believe in a strengths-based, values-based approach that includes a focus on self-compassion, exploration, reflection and skill building. Together, we can build strategies for coping, healing and recovery.

Are you finding everything too stressful right now? Is that showing up as anxiety, insomnia, emotional reactivity, memory or concentration issues? Are you feeling foggy or edgy? The last few years have been tough. In my practice I use more traditional talk therapy while also working directly with your neurophysiology. Neurofeedback actively helps your brain rewire its stress patterns and I use Deep Brain Reorienting and Brainspotting to get to the root of an issue without overwhelm or emotional flooding. If talk therapy alone has not given you what you needed, perhaps more directly accessing your neurophysiology will!

On your journey to self-discovery and personal growth, it is common to encounter obstacles that hold you back from becoming the best version of yourself. If you are experiencing stress and anxiety, difficulties in your relationships or if past experiences are holding you back, isolation doesn't have to be your companion. We can work together to examine and address the issues that are creating turbulence in your life and provide you with the support you need to thrive.

I work with teens (generally 14+) and adults.
Therapy can be a space to feel deeply seen, to explore the hidden currents of your inner world, and to make sense of the patterns that shape your life. Whether you’re facing challenges, untangling relationship dynamics, or seeking greater emotional clarity, I offer a warm, collaborative space. My approach is centred on emotional attunement, self-understanding, and growth, helping clients connect with their thoughts, feelings, and needs, and cultivate self-compassion and inner steadiness. In addition to traditional talk therapy, I also offer Sandtray therapy - a creative, hands-on way to explore experiences beyond words.

I work primarily with service members, veterans, and their families, as well as individuals navigating complex life transitions and high-stress environments. I specialize in supporting PTSD, anxiety, depression, and major life changes. As both the daughter and partner of a service member, I understand firsthand the demands of military life: frequent moves, personal sacrifice, and the invisible burden of trauma. My background in humanitarian work in Canada and internationally has further deepened my understanding of resilience in high-stress and transitional environments.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
