After being raised by first responders (police officer and nurse) and working for many years as a Paediatric ICU nurse, the reality of burnout and PTSD are all too familiar.
I’m here to help you hold your ground and set appropriate boundaries. I am a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). I am being supervised by a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and I can provide RP receipts (please check what your benefits cover).

My theoretical approach to therapy utilizes relational attachment, trauma and cognitive explanations to human emotional and behavioural suffering.
Therapy can be a powerful tool for growth, but it’s not always easy. You may be looking for a therapist who provides not just support and understanding, but also assists you in working toward meaningful change. In my practice, I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship, while drawing from a range of modalities and psychological science, and my own experience to help you navigate that process.

I have 7 years of experience working in community/private mental health settings with individuals struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, and addiction.
Do you have a difficult time looking at yourself with compassion and acceptance because the way you react, behave, and feel is wrong? Maybe it’s reacting with anger and defensiveness, or isolation and shutting down. Maybe it’s feeling like you are not smart enough. attractive enough, or simply not enough. Either way, you are left feeling ashamed of who you are. Imagine a life where you did not feel this way. You did not feel controlled by your emotions, you found joy in the ups and downs, and now look at yourself in a positive light. Beginning therapy is nerve-wracking, but I hope you take a moment (and a deep breath) to reach out!

This immersive journey involved intensive study and application of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Meditation, Spirituality, and Trauma-Informed practices.
Permanent recovery stems from learning to be who you needed to be when you were younger. As a holistic therapist, I help you understand the emotional experiences you're having to make sense of where they originated. We'll work together to identify the parts of yourself that need attention. Embracing all aspects of you, we'll learn that there are no bad parts, only parts that require your care and focus. When we identify the people-pleasing, chaotic, perfectionist, critical, and self-destructive parts, we can learn to be in a relationship with them. This allows us to access the adult part of ourselves to live with peace and ease.

When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
