Have you ever felt utterly alone, anxious, and disconnected? I too felt unsure, overwhelmed, and had trouble coping with life’s curve balls. My journey involved learning to lean into discomfort, to be open and vulnerable, and that one wrong turn does not mean the end. By opening up my authentic self to others and to myself, I learned that I am enough. I believe success in therapy is achieved by using an individualized approach that celebrates the qualities that bring us together as well as those that make us unique. We all face our own battles, but we do not have to go it alone.

I have always had a passion for helping others. With previous work experience in different environments, I have been exposed to the complexities of life, which has developed my belief that change, growth and healing is possible if individuals are supported with compassion, empathy, and non-judgement. This belief has become my therapeutic approach, along with recognizing and valuing that each client is unique, making the therapy process unique.

Kwey-kwey (hello). I am an Indigenous therapist (Algonquin nation) with over 10 years experience providing mental health care to Indigenous individuals and families in Indigenous led community organizations. My passion is supporting Individuals to reach Mno Bimaadziwin- The Good Life. In my years of supporting Indigenous community members, I have specialized in trauma therapies to address lasting impacts of colonial harm such as anxiety, depression, abuse, addiction, and more.

My goal is to help clients experience a greater sense of connection to both themselves and others. I walk clients through the emotional moments that define their sense of self, and help them reclaim a life of balance and calm. Childhood is often thought of as a magical time. The reality is that many kids face problems that leave them feeling worried, scared, angry, sad or confused. This can be difficult and heart breaking for parents trying their best to connect with and support their child. Very often, despite a caregiver’s best effort to learn more and help solve the problem, a child’s response is “I don’t know”. Play therapy can help provide children with the tools they need to express their thoughts and explore their inner world.

I help women identify what is keeping them stuck, acknowledge the losses and grief that come with the transition of motherhood and start to work with challenging emotions.

I am aware of how social and structural systems affect our mood, capacity, self-esteem, and emotional and physical well-being. My approach is one of deep engagement and inclusion; I acknowledge differences in order to understand the complex challenges of navigating a world that can often be dehumanizing. I work with individuals struggling with anxiety, workplace stress, intrusive thoughts, and grief. If you are a couple challenged with poor communication, lack of trust and co-dependency, I provide strategies to improve relational breakdown and increase relationship satisfaction.

We all need support at different times in our lives and I understand that reaching out for this help can be difficult.
