Life sometimes has a way of throwing us curve balls that can leave us feeling stuck and overwhelmed.  As your therapist, I aim to assist you in identifying emotions, thoughts and behaviours that can keep you feeling stuck. This often leads to greater self-awareness, self-compassion and new ways of being that allow you to live a life that is more in alignment with your values.

Parenthood is hard! You know that showing up for your kids helps them grow up to be resilient, confident, and secure adults. But when your tank is empty and you are feeling exhausted, you aren't showing up in the way you want to. You live with guilt, self-doubt and anxiety leaving you feeling angry and lost. You find yourself yelling more than you'd like and resorting to old ways of reacting to your children's behaviour. You're tired and struggle to make it through the day. You want to do better. You long to feel energized, grounded and certain as you make daily parenting choices that will help your family feel more at ease.

I have worked with many people who have experienced abuse, depression and grief or who are faced with the challenges of a new stage of life or health.
I am a Jungian Psychoanalyst offering Jungian Analysis to individuals who want a deeper understanding of themselves. For many reasons, these persons feel emotionally in pain, conflicted or unbalanced in their inner and/or outer life and would benefit from exploring the deep rooted causes of relationship problems and unproductive emotional patterns. The direction of therapy is to look to the past and to the unconscious determinants of behaviour but also to open to the creative and positive movements of the psyche that offer a way forward even in the face of the greatest difficulties or trauma.

Life can have way of disconnecting us from what matters to us, leaving us feeling anxious, depressed , and unfulfilled. It’s easy to feel stuck, hopeless, and adrift, but change is possible. Sometimes it takes deliberate, meaningful steps forward. Sometimes, we just need someone to hear our story and validate how we feel. Sometimes we need tools to cope with hard emotions, and other times we need to hear the crucial information those feelings are trying to tell us. Wherever you’re at, I’m here to help.

I specialize working with individuals ages 16+, and have experience treating insomnia, grief, anger, anxiety, depression , relationship issues and trauma.
Are you feeling overwhelmed? Frustrated? Weighed down by your emotions, and the stress of day-to-day life? Maybe you are facing challenges in your relationships, stress from work or home, problems from the past that just don’t seem to be getting resolved, or new challenges, like the loss of a loved one or fears about the future. Often our journey to seek counselling comes after we have tried all our go-to methods for coping, but they just don’t seem to be working anymore. You’re feeling stuck or blocked from what matters to you, and you are ready to try something different. If this is where you are, I'm glad you're seeking support.

I am a registered Clinical Social Worker with over 6 years of experience providing transformative counselling for a diverse range of issues. It's important for me to help people find the root cause to what is making them feel, act, and think in ways that leave them stuck or hurt. I understand that the social context that we live in can become overwhelming for us due to the constant pressures to succeed. When we lose sight of who we are or feel we have fallen off track, we are left with a sense of worthlessness, guilt, shame, anxiety, and depression .

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
