My ideal clients are individuals, couples, and families who feel stuck in patterns of conflict, disconnection, or emotional overwhelm. Many struggle with communication, anxiety, anger, or long-standing relational patterns, including those often associated with personality disorders. What brings them in is a desire for something to feel different, more clarity, deeper connection, and a stronger sense of stability. I help by creating emotional safety first. Using EFT and integrative approaches, we slow things down, understand underlying emotions, and build healthier, more meaningful ways of relating so change becomes lasting.

Do you ever wonder why you keep on doing the things that you do? Your habits or rituals on a daily basis are sometimes hard to decipher or break. The shame, guilt, anger, Sadness, anxiety or depression that we may feel from repeatedly performing the same actions and thoughts, over and over again, may wear you down. By living more in the moment, and being more mindful of your daily activities, your true self will begin to see the workings of your ego. Your egoic mind is built on early childhood defenses and sub personalities that forms certain addictions and inefficient habits. It is important to be curious about your discomfort.

Most people come to therapy because something isn’t working anymore - patterns keep repeating, emotions feel overwhelming, or life looks fine on the outside but doesn’t feel that way internally. My role is to help you slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, and figure out what actually needs attention. Sessions move at a pace that feels manageable, with room for honesty, curiosity, and even humour when it shows up.

I am a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and work primarily with spouses/partners of addicts to heal from betrayal trauma.
Relationships are rewarding, but also challenge us in deeply complex ways. Attending Emotion-Focused Therapy can help to address painful emotions, identify patterns that keep you "stuck", and to gain awareness of your needs. EFT can help you to attain a deeper level of connection internally and with others. My therapeutic approach is ideal if your goal is to look at what may be holding you back in your close relationships. I work most often with individuals struggling in their relationship, betrayal trauma, and parenting conflicts. I aim to create a warm, caring space that allows you to safely explore and improve your relationship.

Sexual Addiction Counsellors
When should someone seek treatment for sex addiction?
People should seek treatment for sex addiction if they cannot control their sexual thoughts or behaviours to the point that it disrupts their ability to function in daily life, for example by threatening their finances, career, or relationships. This may include spending an excessive amount of time obsessing over sex, planning sex, watching pornography, or masturbating, as well as consistently engaging in risky sexual activities, using sex to escape distressing feelings, or attempting yet failing to control sexual behaviour.

What are the most common treatment options for sex addiction?
Psychotherapy is the most common treatment for sex addiction; therapy helps patients better understand their compulsive thoughts and behaviours and develop strategies to manage their desires. Therapy may be supplemented by medications, such as antidepressants, mood stabilizers, anti-androgens, alcohol and substance use medications, as well as support groups, such as 12-step programs.

How long does therapy take for sex addiction?
Recovering from compulsive behaviour takes time and effort. There’s no precise timeline for treatment, but research suggests 12 therapy sessions may be enough to see change. Treatment for sexual compulsions requires honesty in therapy, a commitment to understanding triggers and developing coping skills, and potential lifestyle changes such as cutting out alcohol or drugs.

What if sex addiction is left untreated?
Compulsive sexual behaviour can have serious repercussions if left unaddressed. For example, if sexual obsessions consume the vast majority of a person’s time, they may lose their job. If they can’t stop paying for sex, their finances may suffer. If they’re dishonest in their relationships, their partner may leave them. If they consistently feel shame, they may struggle with anxiety, depression, or loneliness. Therapy can help people develop the tools to manage sexual thoughts and behaviours that feel uncontrollable.
