In this fast-paced world we may find ourselves caught between too many things. This overwhelming feeling, if left untreated, may potentially cause fatigue and burnouts. This is especially true when you are a caregiver, someone who has the responsibility of the wellbeing of other people. I have had the privilege to work with individuals who feel overwhelmed and stressed about life including teachers, healthcare professionals, children, youths, and adults who struggle with mental unwellness.

I hold a PhD in psychotherapy and practice from a more person-oriented perspective. My clients come to me with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, anger, relationship issues, and work issues.. I focus on the cause of their suffering rather than just putting a band-aid on the symptoms. I help my clients see meaning in their lives and a purpose behind their current situation. We work together to find something beyond the usual, and beyond the typical things they may attribute to their suffering. I offer weekend and evening hours.

I help families develop a better understanding of their adolescent 's diagnosis, find ways to prevent conflict, and repair after a difficult interaction.
I am a registered psychotherapist providing counselling to teens, families, adults and couples. My specialized expertise is in anxiety, depression, ADHD and ASD, giftedness, acute and chronic medical conditions, special needs and vicarious trauma for professionals and care-givers. I teach mindfulness as a way of finding peace in the present moment. Mindfulness strategies develop awareness of thoughts, feelings and automatic stress responses, so that we can learn to pause, stay calm, and choose how we respond in challenging interactions.

I believe psychotherapy is a place where you can be as you are, free to explore the fulness of yourself, to meet yourself. I will be there with you to provide the space and opportunity for change, by giving voice to the areas of you that have remained silent, to assist you in achieving a sense of authenticity and uniqueness. Through psychotherapy you can speak freely, without shame and fear and gradually within your own words another meaning forms and takes the pain with it. You don’t have to suffer isolated and in silence, you would find the ways to overcome the inhibition and the barriers on your path toward well-being and succes.

So you FEEL that there is something wrong but you can't put your finger on it. When you try to talk about it you feel that nobody is HEARING you? I will HEAR you. Why? Because I believe Narrative (Talk) Therapy is one of the best therapies to examine the unknown of what deep inside continues to bother us. While I can and have offered a range of therapeutic treatments, my preferred modalities are Narrative Therapy and Solutions Focused Therapy. I am based in downtown Toronto and am an Associate at Karen T. Kemp Psychology & Associates in Aurora, Ontario. However, I also work online throughout the GTA/Ontario.

From what anyone can tell you’ve got it all going for yourself. But, inside your overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, stressed. You've spent a lot of time just holding things together and you're tired. Or maybe it’s your child struggling. To everyone else it looks like they have it all but you are all too familiar with the call from school in the middle of your work day to pick them up. Maybe they have a stomach ache because of anxiety, or they got into another fight. Maybe they save it all for home where they melt down and just can't cope. You're exhausted and it’s time for a change.

If you want to speak to someone who won't judge, really listens, and can help you find your best self, I would love to hear from you. The first priority is finding a therapist you feel safe with. We begin by exploring the issues and understanding the challenges, but the real work is learning to be gentle with ourselves as we acknowledge the need for a shift and begin to implement new practices. If you have had a traumatic experience, try to seek support within 3 months to prevent PTSD and other issues from developing. EMDR can help immensely to decrease distress. There are no distance issues online. Clients from anywhere welcome.

I am a registered psychotherapist with experience working in a variety of settings in the United States and Canada. Since beginning to practice in early 2014, I have supported hundreds of clients in making important life changes including increasing self-esteem, improving control over emotions and moods, and gaining a better understanding of themselves. My relationship with my clients usually begins with the question, “How will we know when we’ve done what we’ve set out to do?” This ensures that we both recognize important signposts in your journey to recovery, however you define "recovery".

Do you ever wonder why you keep on doing the things that you do? Your habits or rituals on a daily basis are sometimes hard to decipher or break. The shame, guilt, anger, Sadness, anxiety or depression that we may feel from repeatedly performing the same actions and thoughts, over and over again, may wear you down. By living more in the moment, and being more mindful of your daily activities, your true self will begin to see the workings of your ego. Your egoic mind is built on early childhood defenses and sub personalities that forms certain addictions and inefficient habits. It is important to be curious about your discomfort.

Teen Counsellors
Adolescence can be a time of both disorientation and discovery. The transitional period can raise questions of independence and identity; as adolescents cultivate their sense of self, they may face difficult choices about academics, friendship, sexuality, gender identity, drugs, and alcohol.

Most teens have a relatively egocentric perspective on life; a state of mind that usually abates with age. They often focus on themselves and believe that everyone else—from a best friend to a distant crush—is focused on them too. They may grapple with insecurities and feelings of being judged. Relationships with family members often take a backseat to peer groups, romantic interests, and appearance, which teens perceive as increasingly important during this time.

The transition can naturally lead to anxiety about physical development, evolving relationships with others, and one's place in the larger world. Mild anxiety and other challenges are typical, but serious mental health conditions also emerge during adolescence.
