Do you ever feel like things are piling up around you and you can’t keep up? Or that you give until there is nothing left? Working in the field of autism support for the past 13 years and primarily supporting my sibling with autism, I know that feeling too well. Many of my clients are seeking support with caregiver burnout, relationship issues, understanding and working with neurodiversity. I am passionate about providing neurodiversity and LGBTQ+ affirming care. If you're looking for support with disordered eating and body image, I have a personal connection to bariatric surgery and support others going through the same journey.

You’re looking for someone who gets it. Someone who can sit with the mess and help you find a way through that honours who you are. I work with people navigating identity shifts, overwhelm, late and undiagnosed neurodivergence, parenting, trauma, intimate and family relationships, and life transitions, especially the kind that leave you questioning everything you thought you “should” be. My approach is neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, and grounded in non-judgement, curiosity and lived experience. If you’re ready to feel seen and supported as you untangle what’s in front of you, or buried deep, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.

When life gets hard, mental well-being is often the first sacrifice made. We can become strangers, even enemies, with our inner world. Thoughts overwhelm, emotions bubble up out of nowhere, and things feel stagnant, even when we are doing all the 'right' things. You probably feel stuck right now. However, seeking therapy indicates self-curiosity: a desire to explore your inner world and discover more about who you are and what you value. I draw a lot of LGBTQ2S+ folks, but the real uniting factor among the humans I see is this curiosity about themselves and the world.

Are you currently in a season of change and feeling stuck, fearful, or frustrated? If so, I'm here to support and guide you through this challenging time. Moments of change can be incredibly difficult to navigate, whether you're going through a career change, a breakup, entering a new phase of life, or any other significant life transition. Relationships can be deeply meaningful, but also overwhelming and emotionally draining at times. I mainly work with couples experiencing relationship strain, disconnection, or conflict, major life transitions including the shift to parenthood, as well as individuals experiencing mental health challenges during pregnancy, postpartum, or caregiving roles. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) I help you slow down, understand emotional patterns that keep you feeling stuck in disconnection, build a greater understanding of your needs, and a deeper sense of connection with yourself and your relationships.

I believe that healing occurs in relationships, whether these be with ourselves, our communities, or the systems we occupy. My goal is to co-create a therapeutic space that honours your lived experience and equips you to live a life that feels aligned with your values. Getting to explore different perspectives is part of why I do this work. When I’m not asking clients how they feel, I immerse myself in different POVs by reading YA fantasy and writing cultural analyses. I also enjoy running outdoors in the company of friends (or a carefully curated playlist).

Many of the people I work with are 2SLGBTQ+ adults and neurodivergent folks who feel overwhelmed, burnt out, anxious, or stuck in patterns of masking, overfunctioning, or self-doubt. They may be navigating identity exploration, life transitions, workplace stress, or relationship challenges, and noticing that their usual coping strategies are no longer sustainable. In our work, we slow things down and build a grounded understanding of what’s happening beneath the surface. Together, we notice patterns, clarify what matters most, and identify more sustainable ways forward.

Accepting new clients - Have you ever felt like life keeps handing you more than you can realistically hold? Stress, emotions, expectations, and unexpected challenges can pile up quickly, leaving you overwhelmed or unsure where to begin. Feeling this way is deeply human. I offer a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can slow down, feel understood, and begin making sense of what is happening in your inner and outer world.

Hi, I’m Becca. If you’re here, you might feel like you’re stuck in the mud of life— caught between feeling like you’re “too much” or “not enough”. Whether you’re struggling in your relationships, navigating life transitions, facing loss, or working through big feelings like fear, anger, and shame, I’m here to meet you where you are. That’s where I come in. For me, being a therapist means sitting in the mud with you, wading into the messiness together, and working with you toward a place where you can begin to listen to and trust yourself.

I specialize in ADHD & Autism Lvl. 1 and also have experience working with social & general anxiety, trauma, depression, suicidal feelings, substance abuse, video game addiction, stress, and relationship concerns (family, romantic, and friendships). Working with neurodivergent kids, adults, couples, & families is very important to me because I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and struggled a lot without proper support. I get how frustrating navigating the mental health and education systems can be, and I want to support others in learning to harness their amazing abilities and make lasting positive change.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

Most Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are certified by one of the main professional associations, mainly the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and will have a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) designation with their name. Social Workers listed in the directory must be registered members of the college specific to their province. To be listed in the directory, Psychologists must be registered with the psychological college specific to their province or territory.

Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given the considerable variation in professional regulation and prerequisites across Canadian provinces, some providers may possess significant professional qualifications without necessarily holding professional memberships or being obliged to acquire them. As a result, they may be selectively included without the "Verified" seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists and social workers can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and supervised, practical experience that enable them to do so in Canada.

Psychologists have a master's and/or doctoral degree and have passed both written and oral exams. Psychologists are able to complete mental health assessments and provide diagnostic information to clients as well as provide counselling therapy or psychotherapy. Counsellors and psychotherapists are expected to have a master's or doctoral degree in counselling psychology, social work, or a related mental health discipline and certification by a professional association, such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Registered Social Workers possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work and where possible must be licensed or certified by the provincial government and/or regulatory college.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, the cost of a therapy session in Canada could be between $100 and $200. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. Some types of outpatient mental health services are covered by Medicare, provided these are performed by a licensed mental health professional in the provinces or territory you reside in and who accepts the assignment.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postal code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Professionals licensed by regulatory colleges and those certified by associations such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association are obligated to uphold client confidentiality unless there is a legal reason that requires them to disclose information. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there is the potential or known harm to the client or others, or a court order, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
