I use approaches like EMDR, Ego State, and Somatic Therapy to help people process trauma, reconnect with their strengths, and move toward lasting change.
My passion is to help people make sense of their experiences and see that things can get better. I bring extensive experience supporting individuals struggling with mood disorders, complex trauma and PTSD, suicidal thoughts, and self-harm, with unique expertise in working with teenagers. Together, we work toward comfort, connection, and healing. I’ve recently moved into a new space that I’ve poured a lot of care and thought into, with the hope that it feels warm and welcoming for everyone who comes in. This space is designed to reflect the therapy experience I want to offer: calm, safe, and approachable.

You've checked the boxes, reached milestones, built a career or family. Yet inside, something feels off. Despite everything you've achieved, you can't shake the feeling that you're just going through the motions. The peace you've been searching for remains elusive. You may be experiencing symptoms of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, or disconnection from others. You're ready to understand how your past shapes your present and to nourish a connection with your core Self.

I use tools like somatic therapy, EMDR, and relational work, but more importantly, I meet you where you’re at today.
Are you at the point where you have realized "this just isn’t working anymore?" You’re doing everything “right,” but you still feel anxious, overwhelmed, and honestly a little lost. You keep it together on the outside, but inside it’s a different story. You’re tired of overthinking, carrying so much on your own, and pretending you’re okay. Maybe you’ve been through things you don’t talk about, but they still show up in your day-to-day. If you’ve been holding it together for everyone else while quietly falling apart on the inside you’re NOT alone. I help women like you feel seen, understood, and a little less overwhelmed by it all.

I use expressive and somatic forms of therapy to allow processing of emotions with or without words, and thus, provide additional opportunities towards healing beyond talk therapy.
Are you struggling to manage your child’s emotional outbursts? Are you worried about the impact of a recent change on your child’s mental well-being? Are you striving to connect with your child but struggling to communicate effectively? You are not alone. I am happy you are here. Reaching out for therapy for yourself or your child can feel overwhelming. I completely understand. I aim to support each child’s unique journey towards healing and wholeness by providing a safe, contained space for self-expression, exploration, imagination and play.

Are you a queer, trans, or neurodivergent person dealing with the hurt of discrimination, rejection, or the feeling that folks around you just don’t understand? Maybe you struggle with trauma symptoms, dissociation, anxiety, depression, self-blame, or low self-worth. It can be hard to get up the courage to come to therapy only to feel like you have to explain the basics of your identity to your therapist. Worse yet, it can be scary to seek therapy when the field of psychology has historically tried to keep us from being our authentic selves.

I believe that people are much more understandable when you know their life journey. I believe in the power of human connection and the healing that this connection alone can bring about in therapy. My clients know that I am there rooting for them as they navigate difficult chapters: past, present, and future. This is why I am always honoured and excited to hear someone’s story. Looking at the different layers of your story will help us track where certain patterns and cycles have started. Together, we will work through the parts that need healing. We will move forward with this information to make positive changes in your life.

I am happy to work with an extensive range of clients and organize my practice around providing Client-Centred Therapy grounded in empirically-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Additionally, I have lived experience as a first responder and am passionate about addressing the unique challenges associated with fulfilling such roles. In my experience working with people over the last 10 years, I've found that often their challenges are best addressed first and foremost by being heard; this act of listening is a gift that unlocks the resources hidden within.

Drawing from evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ACT, somatic, and existential-humanistic therapy, we will work collaboratively toward your individual goals.
Have you ever been told that you’re “too sensitive” or “too much,” all while feeling like you’re not enough? Perhaps you feel misunderstood or disconnected from your authentic self, while navigating anxiety, depression, and patterns that keep you feeling stuck. Feeling connected to yourself and to others is an important first step in therapy. This begins with having a space where you feel safe, seen, and understood without judgment. My approach is compassion-centered and strengths-based. Together, we can explore the parts of you that may have gone into hiding, make sense of your experiences, and build on skills you already have.

Navigating life's challenges can be overwhelming. You may be carrying stress, anxiety, or trying to heal from intergenerational trauma. You know that something needs to change but aren't sure where to go from here. If you're feeling this way, know that you are not alone. As a second-generation Canadian with Indo-Caribbean roots, I understand how our social location shapes our perceptions, lived experiences, and the unique struggles we face.

I practice an integrative approach, blending psychodynamic, Jungian-informed, attachment, emotion-focused, somatic, and acceptance-based methods.
Life can feel both exciting and overwhelming. You may be navigating new surroundings, shifting relationships, or noticing old patterns surfacing, moments that stir questions about who you are beneath the surface. Part of you wants to move through emotions without being consumed by them, to feel steadier and more at home in yourself.

How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
