If you’re exhausted by constant pressure, perfectionism, or old wounds that still show up in new ways, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to carry it alone. I will work with you to address some of the complex stressors and emotions that can take a toll on daily life. My approach is warm, inviting and collaborative. I create a space where you can slow down, speak freely, and begin to untangle what’s weighing on you. Together, we’ll work toward understanding the patterns that no longer serve you and develop tools to help you feel your best.

I work with clients navigating depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, or trauma rooted in childhood, relationships or life experiences.
Ceilidh understands the weight that many men carry - the kind that’s often unspoken. With over 12 years of experience working alongside military personnel, veterans, and first responders, she knows that many of the strongest individuals are also the most silent when it comes to their own emotional pain. Whether it’s from the battlefield, the pressures of the job, or early life experiences, Ceilidh recognises how trauma, suppressed emotions, and unresolved anger can shape how you show up in your relationships, your parenting, and your sense of self.

What if you could talk to your partner without it becoming an escalated argument every single time? You’re looking for a therapist either because you’re not getting the emotional affection you need or because you have the same fights over and over. You try to discuss your problems but always end up disconnected. You’ve already tried everything you know to do. You have attempted some conversations, gone on date nights, read some books, and may have been to a therapist before. You’re scared of what might happen if something doesn’t change soon. Things are at the point now where you know you need professional help. You need change.

I specialize in substance/alcohol addictions, borderline personality disorder, Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, and mood/ anxiety imbalance.
I believe by engaging in psychotherapy, we can learn how withstand the emotional storm of life. We can make this possible through exploring attachment, childhood memories, relationships, defences & patterns. I view the change we create together as rewriting your narrative, where the past trauma-filled stories we carry are 'rewritten' with health and healing.

If a mood disorder or anxiety is interfering with thriving in your workplace role, together we will develop self-soothing practices for your emotional regulation and occupational success.
As a trauma-informed therapist, I use body-based Somatic practices. Young adults struggling with increasing independence, or couples establishing boundaries are areas we can address together. Supporting difficult transitions has been core to my career, whether helping incarcerated youth set a new life path or leadership teams launching organizational change.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
