Life can feel overwhelming for children, teens, and young adults navigating big emotions, anxiety, school pressure, identity, relationships, or life transitions. Many feel unsure how to express what they’re feeling or feel disconnected from themselves. Parents and caregivers may feel worried and uncertain how to help. Clients often seek emotional balance, confidence, self-understanding, and practical tools to cope with challenges in a more mindful and compassionate way.

“Nothing I accept about myself can be used against me to diminish me" - Audre Lorde
You might be here because there's a sense of disconnection—from the body, from emotions, from a clear sense of self. Sometimes there’s no language for what feels off, just a quiet knowing that something needs attention. Whatever brings you here, it’s welcome.
I centre practices informed by disability-justice, anti-oppressive frameworks, and deep respect for how your body, nerves, emotions and nervous system have carried you through life.
I can help you learn how to build tolerance for the discomfort of being with yourself and your environment.

As a therapist, I aim to create a warm and safe landing space for my clients that is full of unconditional acceptance. A place where old wounds, both big and small, can be brought into the light, and our authentic selves can come out from hiding. My work is collaborative and holistic, integrating body, mind and spirit, and I welcome all parts of you, even (especially!) the angry, broken parts. I like to go deep so we can address the root causes of your struggles. I’m an endlessly curious person who is deeply committed to my own growth, and I know how vulnerable it can feel to sit on the other side of the chair as a client.

I support adults and older teens who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or shaped by past or ongoing stressors. Many come with complex, developmental, or intergenerational trauma, PTSD/c-PTSD, anxiety, attachment wounds, identity concerns, people-pleasing patterns, or difficulty regulating emotions and relationships. You may feel exhausted from coping alone or unsure why certain patterns persist. Together, you can begin to understand what’s happening beneath the surface, heal long-standing wounds, and build a life that feels more grounded, safe, connected, and aligned with your values.

Do you feel stuck or lost in your career? Want to weigh your options or get ahead/change jobs? Despite societal pressure to know exactly what you "should" do, many adults still struggle with this big life question. I want to help you better understand where you've come from and how you hope to experience your future. There’s no set path, no instructional manual or timeline telling you what to do next. That kind of freedom can be overwhelming or paralyzing. But you don’t have to navigate it alone. I'll help you feel clear about your purpose, what you want & ultimately be guided by your values, interests, abilities & life experience.

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
