None of us deserve to face life feeling alone. You deserve a safe space where you can feel heard; a place to work through whatever comes your way; and a place to gain tools that you can use to live every day to the fullest. Perhaps you have a child who is learning to work through their emotions, or you are a young person having a hard time at school or at home. Maybe you are a parent looking to find ways to connect with your child(ren) differently than you are now or you're an adult who is about to go through a big life transition and want a listening ear.

Anxiety, negative thinking, grief, relationship issues, ADHD and/or depression can be overwhelming to navigate alone.
I work with individuals (teen and adults) and couples. I practice from a client-centered framework, offering a warm, compassionate and supportive space. I believe counselling should be an integrative experience of mind, body and spirit. Together we can create an individualized approach that will promote growth and healing.

Now Accepting New Clients! Reaching out for help can feel intimidating, especially when you’re already carrying so much. As a therapist, I aim to offer you a warm, grounding space where you can show up exactly as you are — no need to have it all figured out. Together, we’ll explore what’s been feeling heavy and begin to make sense of your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. I work with adults (18+) and couples from all walks of life, and I understand how our stories — our cultures, identities, and past experiences — shape the way we move through the world.

There are many reasons why someone may choose to seek therapy services, and these reasons are as individual as the person themselves. In my practice, I work collaboratively with clients to determine their therapeutic goals and how they would like to move toward them.

Have you been considering therapy but wonder if it will actually help? Have you tried therapy in the past and it wasn't a great fit? My goal as a therapist is to meet people where they are at while offering a safe place to do so. An added bonus? I work with clients from Nova Scotia (online, phone or in person) AND Prince Edward Island (online or phone only). Maybe your child is needing an outlet, somebody to talk to? Perhaps they are having difficulty with big emotions or feeling overwhelmed with big life transitions? I am also an experienced child therapist! Reaching out for support from a counsellor is an amazing first step!

Guided by my lived experience as a former NCAA D1 athlete and AuDHD therapist, I work with athletes, neurodivergent folks and those seeking clarity, direction, and purpose.
Led by an experiential approach backed in existential theory and neuroscience, I work with those who think "too deeply", feel "too intensely", and who spent years performing & adapting their ways through systems, to answer life’s bigger questions especially during life shifts when life stops making sense the way it used to to find clarity.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
