Our therapists work from a variety of modalities, such as: EMDR, IFS, ACT, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness Modalities and Integrative Therapy.
We are a team of social work therapists who support individuals seeking tools to self-regulate, find calm or reduce anxiety, to build safety in their lives and relationships, or to understand and process the impact of relational trauma in their lives. We work to help reduce triggers and impacts of trauma while developing tools and skills to maintain a more balanced life. We work from a gentle process of trust-building without pressure on their journey. We recognize the importance of a therapeutic relationship built on a strong foundation of trust, honesty, non-judgement, respect, and transparency.

Using evidence-based approaches of mindfulness, self-compassion, ACT, emotionally focused, and person-centered therapies, I can support you to gain more self awareness and cultivate an increased level of self-support.
My approach to counselling lies on the foundation that healing and change happens as you safely move toward yourself in a non-judgmental and curious way. When we learn to be more compassionate and hold our experiences with kindness over judgement, we naturally increase our capacity for making connections and moving toward what serves us.

I also draw inspiration from CBT, attachment theory, mindfulness and strength-based practices, and am person-centred and trauma-informed across all approaches.
Navigating relationships with ourselves, others, and the world is difficult on a good day, and it is my belief that symptoms of depression, anxiety and trauma warrant as much attention and care as any physical ailment. I offer both art and talk therapy, and work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, addiction, PTSD, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. I integrate complementary methodologies to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client, and provide a warm environment where your unique strengths and values will be honoured as we explore areas of difficulty and work towards your goals together.

Therefore, I integrate evidence-based, trauma-informed, experiential therapy methods (Person-centered, IFS, Mindfulness, ACT, CBT, EMDR) in my practice to address not only presented but also hidden issues from a comprehensive and compassionate perspective.
I believe that all people were born with positive potential. Unfortunately, due to all kinds of hurt that happens in life, we unconsciously build layers of protection onto our inner Self, blocking our ability to see things clearly, and limit our capacity to respond to daily life in a healthy and constructive way. I believe that your true Self knows what the loving and meaningful life path is for yourself. I am committed to being a Compassionate, Curious, Creative, Confident, Calm, Clear, and Courageous guide to assist you to grow toward a better sense of well-being either for short term, or long term therapy to know yourself better.

My therapeutic approach adapts to the individual needs of my clients, but I often incorporate techniques in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Humanistic Therapy with a focus on solution focused; Narrative Therapy and mindfulness-based strategies.
We all know the importance of taking care of our physical health (although that can be challenging to do!) but it is equally, if not fundamentally important to take care of our mental health and wellbeing. Just like a nutritionist or trainer teaches new habits while holding you accountable to your fitness goals, a counsellor can support your goals for therapy and equip you with the proper resources, strategies and tools to help you face your life challenges with confidence and empowered purpose.

My work reflects my training in EFT, ACT, and mindfulness; I also draw from all the various experiences of my life—from being a dad and partner, to the loss of loved ones, to training as a Zen monk in Japan.
I am now accepting new clients. ...Each of us has a story we want to be true. What kind of partner/parent/friend do I want to be? What is the work I want to do in the world? What do I want to make more central, and where do I want to learn to let go? How do I navigate this next step? If we're working together, then we’re exploring what matters most to you and how to work with the obstacles that keep you from it. And if you're coming as a couple, then we're working on how to have the kinds of conversations that currently feel out of reach.

I blend somatic therapy, mindfulness, creative expression, nature-based approaches and transpersonal psychology into my approaches to help you reconnect with yourself, your story, and your inner wisdom.
My approach to therapy is for minds that wander, hearts that feel deeply, and creatives who crave meaning. I work with those who live vividly. Those who feel deeply, think expansively, and often find themselves navigating a world that wasn’t built with them in mind. You might be a creative, a daydreamer, a deep thinker. You might be neurodivergent, queer, or questioning. You might be holding grief, transition, or transformation in your hands. If so, welcome. I call my therapy “The Living Room Therapy” as it is space to rest and reimagine. A place to bring the tender, tangled parts of yourself and be met with warmth and curiosity.

How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.
When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behaviour through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.
What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviours and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.
Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioural habits.
