Sometimes we need some additional support. I offer sessions to adolescents (15+), adults & couples experiencing various issues. Challenging relationships can take a toll on our mental health and well-being. We can identify difficulties in relationships (romantic, familial, work or otherwise) that may be causing distress. Some topics addressed include boundaries, attachment, and communication. I also offer perinatal counselling for those who need support through pregnancy and/or the postpartum period. I have an easygoing and supportive approach and believe you know yourself best. I encourage open communication throughout treatment!

My ideal clients are adults and couples who appear steady on the outside but feel unsettled within. They may be navigating stress, relationship strain, parenthood, grief, or life transitions, sensing something has shifted but unsure how to make sense of it. Often feeling stuck in familiar patterns or disconnected, they’re looking for space to slow down, gain clarity, and move forward with intention—toward deeper self-understanding, stronger connection, and a more grounded, aligned way of living.

I am best able to help clients who are desirous of making changes in their lives and understand that "the slower you go, the faster you get there". My practice provides a safe space for patients to put all of their thoughts and feelings into words. As patients talk, they learn about themselves and better understand their journey. As the unconscious becomes conscious, patients are able to make more thoughtful and meaningful choices and thus begin to live more full and meaningful lives.

My focus is on helping clients face difficult life challenges and the emotions, worries and fears that come with them. Stress, anxiety, and depression are more familiar to us than we would like. Our goal in therapy is to improve your coping skills and overall well-being. With that, I am a firm believer in the need for an individualized journey in therapy as opposed to a one-size fits all cookbook approach. This is about you and your life. It's deeper than some technique or strategy. And so therapy has to be founded on our relationship we build and the dynamics of it. Finding a therapist right for you is important also.

“Nothing I accept about myself can be used against me to diminish me" - Audre Lorde You might be here because there's a sense of disconnection—from the body, from emotions, from a clear sense of self. Sometimes there’s no language for what feels off, just a quiet knowing that something needs attention. Whatever brings you here, it’s welcome. I centre practices informed by disability-justice, anti-oppressive frameworks, and deep respect for how your body, nerves, emotions and nervous system have carried you through life. I can help you learn how to build tolerance for the discomfort of being with yourself and your environment.

Where there is struggle there is also opportunity for growth. Changing negative thoughts, feelings and beliefs takes work. Together we will sort through past traumas and current dilemmas. Suffering can break you or it can break you open to a better version of yourself. I am here to support you and to help you to find your way out of the darkness and back into the light . I have worked in multiple drug and alcohol rehabs, I was the Program Services Worker for the Salvation Army in Kentville, in group homes supporting adults with disabilities, in an orphanage and held a million customer service positions along the way.

Life can be challenging. Sometimes we need help to improve the quality of daily experiences & relationships. Anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction (sex, gambling & substances), anger, grief, complicated relationships, personality disorders and self-esteem all influence our lives. As a clinical supervisor for two addiction facilities, I have experience with complex mental health issues. I assist clients in identifying codependency traits, narcissists in their relationships and how emotional dis-regulation contributes to complications. Having overcome my own challenges aids in an authentic connection with my clients. Compassion and humour are tools I use while I assist clients in reclaiming identity

Sessions will enable you to cultivate an in-depth understanding of yourself and recognize patterns of behaviour that may be detrimental to your well-being. Through expert guidance, we assist you in introspecting your thoughts and emotions, ultimately enhancing emotional intelligence and overall wellness. During our sessions together we will focus on unconscious; bringing feelings, thoughts and memories to conscious awareness. Additionally, we will seek to understand the reasons behind your distress, rather than just alleviating symptoms. - I also provide Clinical Supervision for RCT-candidates. Please send an email to inquire.

When you are looking for a therapist, one of the most important things aside from training and approaches used is the personality fit! Over the years as a Psychologist, I have learned that you can be good at working in many areas, but you can only be great at some! For that reason, I decided to gather a team of therapists whom I trust and that have unique skill sets and varying personality styles to choose from.

What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
