Sometimes, it really can be that deep. In my practice, I support individuals (18+) who recognize they want to change the way they are thinking, feeling, and living. Let's work together to better understand your experiences, and how they are impacting you. Whether you wake up and no longer recognize yourself, or want to manage life stressors before they reach that point, I am here for you. In my practice, I specialize in treating stress-related conditions like PTSD, supporting clients in understanding and managing emotional experiences, work with attachment struggles and interpersonal relationships, and exploring inner child work.

You may find yourself caught in patterns that no longer serve you, disconnected from the life you imagined or feeling stuck in grief. Perhaps you find yourself often overextending to meet the need of others’ while your own needs go unmet. Or perhaps you are experiencing a major life transition. You may long for deeper connection to a partner & perhaps feel invisible in your relationship. If you're feeling overwhelmed, unfulfilled, or simply ready for something different—you're not alone. Therapy can be a space to reconnect with yourself or your partner, unpack and process your past, & move forward with intention & clarity.

We are all thrown into this journey of life without our consent. While life can be astonishingly beautiful, it has a way of testing our limits and pushing us to our breaking point at times. I am here to offer you a guiding hand along the way and to provide you with additional support to navigate the rough waves of life. I offer sessions to adolescents, adults and couples, helping them with diverse concerns. I have an easy-going, non-judgemental attitude fostered on meeting the client with unconditional positive regard. I use a strength-based, person-centred approach, being mindful that the client is the expert of their own care.

When stress holds you back... it can be overwhelming...maybe with worries you are "too much" for therapy. I want you to genuinely know - you are not too much. My military and volunteer SAR experience contribute to an understanding and ability to confront many challenges - stress, trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, agoraphobia - at the root often shame, guilt, feeling "not good enough". My approach is both compassionate and direct. To uncover the root of your symptoms to find clarity, hope, and practical direction.

Do you feel like you’ve lost yourself under the weight of responsibilities? You hold everything together for everyone else, but inside you feel exhausted, disconnected, or unsure of who you are now. Maybe you’re caught in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, or people-pleasing that keep you from living in a way that truly feels like you. Despite all the inner work you’ve already done, something still seems to hold you back from creating a life that speaks to your heart.

We all deserve to live a genuine life—one that reflects what truly matters to us. A life where you feel content and connected to yourself and those around you. But there are times when life feels distressing, painful, traumatic, or simply not as meaningful as we’d like. Choosing to invest in yourself and your well-being is a powerful act of strength and courage. I believe therapy is a journey of self-discovery—uncovering what’s been holding you back from feeling fulfilled. It is about understanding how past experiences and relationships shape us and learning how to break free from patterns that no longer serve you.

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
