Chronic Pain Therapists in Dartmouth, NS
My specialty is listening, assisting decision making and being a support. If you would like to make an action plan, change, create and follow through with goals, we can work together to make that happen. I provide individual and group counselling to build confidence, self-image, communication and friendship/social skills. I use the interventions of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, (CBT) to treat depression, anxiety, youth/parent relationships, ADHD, and stress by addressing thinking and by changing behaviours to support your life.

I have worked with clients who have multiple chronic conditions, depression, addictions, anxiety; experienced an overwhelming event (accident/physical assault) as well as chronic trauma (long-term illness/ child/partner abuse).
"Until you stop breathing, there's more right with you than wrong with you." (Jon Kabat-Zinn) This is also my guide and intention as a Registered Counselling Therapist. My work is to help an individual experience themselves differently while providing compassion, presence and skill in a safe space. I offer an integrated, eclectic approach that is based on each client's needs. Understanding attachment style, the effects of trauma and the mind-brain-body connection inform my therapeutic approach.

“Nothing I accept about myself can be used against me to diminish me" - Audre Lorde
You might be here because there's a sense of disconnection—from the body, from emotions, from a clear sense of self. Sometimes there’s no language for what feels off, just a quiet knowing that something needs attention. Whatever brings you here, it’s welcome.
I centre practices informed by disability-justice, anti-oppressive frameworks, and deep respect for how your body, nerves, emotions and nervous system have carried you through life.
I can help you learn how to build tolerance for the discomfort of being with yourself and your environment.

I specialize in grief, chronic pain and illness, relationships, complex trauma, queer and neuro-affirming care.
I believe in our individual and collective capacity to heal and transform, and that we do not need to walk that path alone. I work at the edge of healing trauma and social justice, often with people who are searching for a way back to safety, dignity and belonging after rupture in their relationships. I am deeply aware of how legacies of trauma and oppression shape our bodies and the stories we tell, and that our individual pathways to healing are also collective and shaped by our contexts. Our survival strategies are wise, and sometimes we need help finding our way back to connection - with ourselves, others and the land.
