ADHD, anxiety, overwhelm and burnout, parenting stress, family dynamics, school challenges, confidence building, emotional regulation, and neurodiversity-affirming support.
Hi, I’m Meg. I support women, parents, children, and neurodiverse clients—including women with ADHD—who are seeking more balance, regulation, and clarity in daily life. My nature-based sessions often include mindful walks on the land and even tea with the horses. I also offer equine-facilitated wellness to help clients feel grounded and connected. With experience in public and private schools, I help families navigate stress and advocate for their child’s needs. I’d be honoured to support you.

Working with children, adolescents and adults in the past, I have experience in assisting depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, self-esteem, grief, anger, and relationships.
I work with DBT, ACT, CBT, and narrative therapy. It brings great satisfaction to provide psycho-education to individuals when applicable, allowing them to understand their selves further. When we are aware of our bodies, behaviours, and emotions it helps us understand our situations and why we respond the way we do.

I treat the following using Cognitive Behaviour Therapies: Eating and body image concerns, including loss-of-control eating; PTSD; mood and anxiety disorders; and OCD.
I believe that the better therapists know a specific treatment, the better they are at tailoring these treatments to those we work with. As such, I specialize in Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, including CBT for eating disorders and Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. CBT is also first line treatment for anxiety and mood disorders.

Relational therapy is an attuned and exploratory conversation in which we attempt to make sense of your experiences and responses. I will help you feel what needs to be felt, give language to your feelings and beliefs, and see where, how and why you might be getting stuck. My approach is feminist, anti-oppressive, LGBTQ+-affirmative and sex-positive.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
