Change is difficult, and often painful. If we are in distress and decide we want to change some aspect of our life, it can feel frightening but also hopeful. Maybe we want to heal from trauma, whether physical or emotional, or address substance use that is problematic. Or perhaps we feel like we are living in a darkness or prison of depression, one that is difficult to explain or describe to anyone in our lives. This is when we need empathy and respectful, collaborative guidance as we walk the path of change. It is an honour to witness someone's stories and experiences, to hold space for their pain, grief or sense of confusion.
I practice EMDR, a type of therapy which can be helpful for healing trauma and other aspects of distress. I provide individual and group counselling, as well as crisis management, and I am a service provider with WorkSafeBC. In addition, I am a Stott- Trained Pilates teacher in Canada and Europe. "Change happens through movement, and movement heals".
Prior to becoming a therapist I worked as a teacher in Canada and the U.K. I have volunteer experience with various organizations, including BC's Disaster Psychosocial Services Program. I am endorsed by BC Professional Firefighters Association (BCPFFA). Here is now. Now is here.
