You are not alone in your struggles. I will support, guide you and encourage you as we work together towards growth and change. We all heal best while in caring relationships. Therapy is a safe place to begin the relational work that can in time, be applied to life outside of sessions. Family of origin work continues to be a passion of mine, I have worked in diverse clinical areas but more recently I have done advanced certification in perinatal and postpartum mood and adjustment, along with fertility related issues and birth trauma and processing. I enjoy the intersection of family of origin and the new parenting role.
My education is from UBC (BA) and Masters in Counselling Psychology from Adler University in Chicago Illinois. I have training in EMDR, CBT, DBT and various other modalities.
I understand that connecting with a therapist can be overwhelming, and it can take energy and courage to even begin. I will aim to collaborate with you on what it is that would make counselling as beneficial as possible, and to help guide the process. I use empathy, intuition and sometimes even humor to ease this relational process.
