Life has this special way of getting overwhelming, fast. One day the world has endless possibilities, and the next day every door feels closed. While these ups and downs may be inevitable, we can also learn how to manage the mountain tops and valleys of life with a little bit of mindfulness and resolve.
I believe that counselling shouldn't be complicated - it's the simple process of getting to know yourself in a new light, and making the conscious choice to approach old challenges in new ways. Often it isn't clear which direction holds the right footing to make our first steps, but together we can make our steps meaningful ones.
I like to take a humanistic-existential approach to counselling. This often sounds very daunting, but it simply means that people heal in relationship to others! Together we will create a counselling space based in empathy and authenticity while chatting about where you find life's meaning. I will also draw on approaches like EFT, narrative therapy, and ACT.
Sometimes we may wish that there was a math equation that could solve life's challenges. Sadly, calculus just can't tell you about the human experience. If you are looking for a genuine and nonjudgemental person to throw around some thoughts and feelings with, you can find me at Tall Tree Health in James Bay.
