For this reason, I am a huge believer that most of us can make changes within a short period of time. My approach tends to be direct with a touch of humour.
I've been practicing counselling for a number of years with adolescents and adults. Most of the clients I have seen were living with various issues such as low mood, anxiety, addictions, communication difficulties, to name a few.
