The Co-operators Therapists in St John's, NL
We’re often told to “be kinder to ourselves,” “worry less,” or “communicate better.” And many of us do understand why we are the way we are. We have insight, self-awareness, and plenty of knowledge about what we “should” be doing. Yet somehow, that knowing doesn’t always translate into real change—whether in how we treat ourselves, how we show up in relationships, or how we move forward in the areas of life that matter most.

The Centre for Psychodynamic Insights is a virtual clinic specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach explores the root causes of symptoms by uncovering and understanding underlying emotions through evidence-based treatment. Through collaborative dialogue, we examine unconscious thoughts and emotions shaped from childhood to the present. We work to relieve symptoms by understanding how these patterns affect current experiences, and create targeted strategies for meaningful change long-term.

You’re the one people count on—the dependable mom, the first responder, the strong one in the family, the high achiever, the problem solver. From the outside, it looks like you’ve got it all together. But inside, you might feel exhausted, anxious, burned out, or unsure of who you are beyond the roles you’ve taken on. Maybe you’re wrestling with perfectionism, self-doubt, ADHD, or work and school stress. Maybe you feel stuck in patterns of over-functioning, people-pleasing, or procrastination. And sometimes, you find yourself asking, “When do I get to exhale?”

There are seasons when life feels quietly heavy, when you’re the steady one for everyone else, yet something inside feels worn thin. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, weighed down by anxiety or depression, burned out, navigating relationship strain, or carrying the impact of past experiences, you’re not alone. Growing up in a small rural community and working in education, I’ve seen how deeply responsibility and loyalty run. You don’t have to walk this rough patch alone. I offer a no-judgment space where all parts of you are welcome, a place to slow down and find your footing again.
