Life can become overwhelming, confusing and uncertain. When difficult seasons arise, it’s important to have someone in your corner offering an empathetic ear to listen. You are the expert of your life; you know what is best for you, and from this belief we will work collaboratively to help meet your goals and progress towards the life you want for yourself. If you are looking for a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your challenges, reconnect with your strengths and move forward with confidence, I would love to connect with you.

I support clients navigating life transitions, addictions, grief and loss, self-esteem challenges, well-being, and spirituality.
As a retired Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), I bring a deep understanding of the connection between body, mind, and spirit into my work as a clinical counsellor. I work best with individuals who are open-minded and committed to personal growth. My clients are often reflective, intuitive, and curious—people who are willing to examine their beliefs and take responsibility for their lives. They may feel that something is holding them back, even if they cannot fully identify it. They are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences. They are ready for change. Does this sound like you?

I am interested in working with those who struggle with depression, anxiety, anger, shame and motivation. I feel psychotherapy is a space to reflect on the meaning of your experiences and emotions and use them to guide your actions in life. I see therapy sessions as intense conversations that help clients create a life that integrates past and present experience to inform a way of going forward that feels true, inspiring and achievable.

I use a variety of evidence-based and trauma-informed therapies such as CBT and EMDR and ancient practices such as meditation and spirituality.
In each session, I hold space for each client by using my calming and safe energy, so the client can feel safe, supported, accepted and cared for so they can be vulnerable in order to heal.

My ideal clients are individuals struggling with trauma, anxiety, grief, attachment wounds, chronic stress, PTSD, or nervous system dysregulation, especially those who feel traditional talk therapy has not fully resolved the deeper impact of their experiences. Many are emotionally exhausted from living in survival states such as fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. At my neuroscience-based clinic. I use specialized therapies including Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) to help clients process unresolved trauma, regulate the nervous system, and create lasting healing.

Sometimes we reach a point where we know something isn't working, but we're not quite sure what needs to change. Maybe you're dissatisfied with where you are in life, questioning whether you're on the right path, or feeling disconnected from the person you used to be. You may find yourself thinking, “I just don't feel like myself anymore.” Therapy is about having a place to explore your experiences, make sense of what's happening, and discover practical ways to move forward.

Are you doing all the "right" things but still feeling exhausted, stuck, or quietly wondering if this is really it? Maybe you're succeeding by most measures but running on empty underneath. Or you're facing a transition — in your career, relationships, or sense of self — and you're not sure who you're supposed to be on the other side of it.

Spirituality Counsellors
What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?
Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?
There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviours. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?
Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?
Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
