Rocky Balboa - "Until you start believing in yourself, you ain't gonna have a life
I specialize in supporting Men’s Mental Health and offer evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for individuals—both men and women—struggling with weight-related concerns and emotional health. Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck. They’ve tried diets, fitness plans, or short-term fixes, but still find themselves battling the same patterns—emotional eating, low motivation, negative self-talk, and feelings of failure or frustration. Underneath it all, there’s often stress, shame, or unspoken pain.

I typically work with clients who are struggling with various aspects of everyday life and would like some support as they work through a difficult time, transition, or issue that has emerged for them.
I often work with disabled clients but I also support many clients who are seeking to understand themselves better and to learn new skills. I typically assess neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism, specific learning disorders, ADHD) as well as the assessment of behavioural issues. Initial contact preferred by email. Phone is not for emergencies.

I believe that therapy should be a non-judgemental, collaborative experience, where you can comfortably uncover and confront the obstacles preventing you from living the life you deserve.
My approach is informed by extensive experience and training. I have specializations in Trauma, Addiction, and Mental Health and offer ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy). I am a sex positive and gender affirming therapist, with a specialized focus on adolescents and teens with gender related concerns, and adult relationships that are "non-traditional".

Each individual is the expert of their own life, and therefore sessions are client focused and client paced.
As a mother of three young children (including twins!), I take a keen interest in perinatal mental health and recognize the ever-evolving challenges of parenthood. Parenthood is a complex transformation!

I work with other groups too, including: individuals dealing with anxiety, grief, or loss of meaning; issues related to one's LGBTQ+ identity; families learning to adjust to life-cycle and other transitions.
Do you ever feel like your partner doesn't understand you? Have you experienced an affair or some other kind of infidelity? Does your communication feel like it can use some help? I believe that connecting to our partners begins with understanding our selves deeply and learning to communicate with one another in the most effective way possible. Relationships can give us a lot of comfort, but to be their best, they require hard work - and some guidance every now and then. My expertise is in helping those in relationships gain the kind of clarity that can take their relationships to the next level.

Life has its ups and downs.
Every person is unique. Consequently, I draw on a number of counselling modalities to fit the person and the issues they are facing. All are informed by a person-centred, trauma-informed approach. I frequently work with individuals who have had adverse childhoods, have been or are affected by abusive relationships, burnout and overall stress-related issues.

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
