Yet somehow, that knowing doesn’t always translate into real change—whether in how we treat ourselves, how we show up in relationships, or how we move forward in the areas of life that matter most.
Today, there’s no shortage of information with self-help books, reels, even ChatGPT offering guidance on managing anxiety, understanding attachment, healing from childhood experiences, or setting boundaries. But having more information can make it even more discouraging when things don’t shift.

Waitlist for new clients
I typically work with clients who are struggling with various aspects of everyday life and would like some support as they work through a difficult time, transition, or issue that has emerged for them.
I often work with disabled clients but I also support many clients who are seeking to understand themselves better and to learn new skills. I typically assess neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism, specific learning disorders, ADHD) as well as the assessment of behavioural issues. Initial contact preferred by email. Phone is not for emergencies.

Asking for help can be one of the hardest things to do - I’m glad you are making that first step! My therapy room is a safe and accepting space where there is no agenda to change or "cure" you. It is to see you, as you are. My goal is that you feel seen and understood. Many clients come to me describing themselves as depressed, overwhelmed, stressed, stuck or anxious. Most are surprised that I don't try to ’get rid' of these symptoms, but that every part is welcome and has an important story to share. Through mindfulness we bring awareness to these feelings, to understand and embrace them to enable healing at a deeper level.

The Centre for Psychodynamic Insights is a virtual clinic specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach explores the root causes of symptoms by uncovering and understanding underlying emotions through evidence-based treatment. Through collaborative dialogue, we examine unconscious thoughts and emotions shaped from childhood to the present. We work to relieve symptoms by understanding how these patterns affect current experiences, and create targeted strategies for meaningful change long-term.

I feel psychotherapy is a space to reflect on the meaning of your experiences and emotions and use them to guide your actions in life.
My approach is guided by the goals and preferences of my clients. I incorporate current research on neuroscience and emotional health to help clients navigate personal challenges and relate to difficult feelings with wisdom and self-compassion.

Each individual is the expert of their own life, and therefore sessions are client focused and client paced.
As a mother of three young children (including twins!), I take a keen interest in perinatal mental health and recognize the ever-evolving challenges of parenthood. Parenthood is a complex transformation!

What can I expect from life coaching?
Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?
Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?
Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?
Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
