Hello ! I’m Hannah with Spark Your Growth. My work is focused on helping people heal trauma, understand how the brain works & learn to navigate their emotions. For nearly a decade I have seen clients build self-confidence, cope with life’s stressors, create stronger relationships, regulate stress, overcome burnout and achieve a life they want to live. Given that each person is unique, I understand there is no one-size fits all when it comes to therapy. I use a combination of process-oriented, somatic & cognitive therapies to create an approach that will meet each individual's needs & interests.

I have completed specialized training in grief therapy, trauma-informed mindfulness, music-integrated therapy, and Deep Brain Reorienting.
The changes we go through in life can leave us questioning our ability to cope, who we are, what we want, and how we can move forward. Navigating transition is easier said than done, but with the right support, it's possible.

You look like you’re holding it together, but inside it feels heavy—stress, old patterns, trauma, money worries, parenting struggles, grief, or something you can’t quite name.
I take a trauma-informed approach that blends curiosity with practical strategies. Whether it’s EMDR, CBT, ACT, DBT, or narrative work, I tailor therapy to your needs. I have a special interest in money trauma, parenting, and relationships, while supporting all forms of trauma with warmth and care.

Everyone needs additional support at times. Life can become tangled with mixed emotions and underlying thoughts or beliefs. There may be unexpected obstacles, challenges and changes in your life causing you to feel stressed, anxious or overwhelmed, or you may not identify with how you are feeling, but you have noticed that your mood and behaviours have changed. You may not be aware of the physical and/or social impact this may be having on your life. Together we can identify your inner strengths and develop additional strategies and tools to not only help you cope, but to support you and help you grow.

Life can feel heavy, stressful, or exhausting. You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of your next steps. Deep down, you want space to pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself, while finding clarity, resilience, and new ways forward. You want support from someone who feels grounded and real; not a “quick fix” or expert telling you what to do. You’re looking for a safe place to be yourself, to feel understood, and to explore what healing and growth could look like for you.

Grief Counsellors

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
